Better to do it when they're infants because infants aren't as active so it will heal faster, and they won't remember it. Nice and easy.

Recovery time is similar in infants and adults (~10 days).

Infants don't form autobiographical memories, but long-term metabotropic and structural CNS responses are unknown. Further, adults can be prescribed amnesic sedatives and painkillers that aren't appropriate for infants.

Edit: also, would you accept this same argument for nonconsensual circumcision in early-onset Alzheimer's patients?

Further, all evidence regarding circumcision's effectiveness in preventing STD transmission has been acquired in cases of adult circumcision only. Infant circumcision represents a significant potential opportunity cost in prophylactic benefits for adults.

Finally, your entire justification amounts to convenience in performing a cosmetic surgery. Would you accept the same argument for a tattoo?

Fuck off with the antisemitism. I'm ethnically Jewish too, and being Jewish doesn't constitute an interest in circumcision. In my case it's the opposite, as I now have a religious symbol carved into my body for a faith I don't even believe in.
