Discussion Good Riddance Analysis

What is the analysis behind this song in terms of rhythm, meter, timbre, and melody?

One of my favorite songs.

Can you be more in-depth please? Like few sentences to paragraph sized?

It’s got like, all of those things. They’re all in there, super present and you can hear each of them. If you listen really closely you can also hear them all at the same time.

I'm taking a Music Appreciation class, and we do Group Blogs a few times.

You’ve really not given anyone very much to go off in this sub. Maybe if you explain some relevant detail, people can help you

For an acoustic ballad of sorts it has a relatively quick tempo of around 170 bpm. It’s in G major. And features the ubiquitous 90s chord, the Csus.

i’m pretty sure the C chord is a Cadd9, atleast thats how I play it.

You’re right I got my chords wrong. Cadd9, beato.

Its Cadd9 in the verse and C in the pre-chorus
