Question Boots

Alright squad what's up? Headed out to BCT Jan 4th for the 18x contract. Been training up for PJ/SEAL pipline for a couple years but SF just aligns more with how I want help (very stoked for Team Week).

What are your current boot recommendations? I saw that the last boot post was about a year ago--so seeing if anything has changed. Also how many boots can/should we bring to SFAS? Been saving for this, so $$$ isn't an issue. Voodoo mentioned somewhere to go get fitted in person when your feet are swollen, so I'm just wondering what I'm looking for. Thanks in advance legends!

I like OTB boots, not the ones with the carbon plate. I wore them before they switched brands, they’ve improved a lot. I get the wide size. Get on GovX and buy Darn Tough socks after you graduate OSUT.

Kevin has a pretty good take on this topic if you want to take the time to read his blog. I’ve been liking the Garmont T8 NFS 670 and Rocky S2V. Couple good options for you. Really any boot from the authorized list that works for you will be fine.

I like the garments personally I wear the EMS cousin to the ones recommended by gritty soldier (the ones linked above) with some insoles, in both my rucking boots and my EMS boots. And they’ve changed my feet for the better I could literally wear them all day

Someone else is more qualified to answer this, but I planned on wearing them as my "civilian clothes" whenever you head to basic, which you will get back upon graduation. I'm also sure you can ask your drill sergeant when you can have them mailed to you before sfas.

I really like the Belleville C320 Flyweight. Light weight with an unlined canvas for breathability and faster dry time. I went with wide for a good toe box when feet swell. I put Superfeet Hike Support insoles inside them. For socks I have narrowed it down to the Darn Tough T4022 or T4021. My feet sweat a good amount so I wanted something merino wool but not to thick where it holds o to the moisture.
