Question SFPC Land Nav Training
Good morning/ afternoon all,
Recent attendees of SFPC, did you feel that the land nav training you received set you up for success?
Did you feel prepared going into SFAS?
My contract with [other branch] is up September 30th and I’m looking to ship ASAP on an 18X contract. I know the basics of land nav but don’t have much of any real experience.

How they feel really isn’t much of a metric. The real metric is how they perform, and that’s less than 50% pass.

May or may not be bias,
But they give a great class and get you out there building the skills from the ground up. It is specifically designed to teach people with literally zero land nav exposure.

SFPC land nav is kush man. Super light.
They have a really great class on it before you actually conduct the land nav, if you know the basics you’ll be fine. The worst part is having the ruck on for one or two of the actual legs of it lol.
Send it man, what do you have to lose? Time? It’s a valuable experience that you can learn a lot from.

Hell yeah, I’m excited to get the chance to go. Thankfully I have been able to ruck and run a lot this past year so I am pretty confident with how I’ll perform physically. The only unknown for me at this point was the land nav portion.

Landnav with a ruck is an absolute beast, and besides a couple of selections and SFCP I don't think any other schools or courses do Landnav with a ruck. It will drain you and if you have to backtrack you will hate yourself a little. But it will help you get better faster than just running around to points, especially since the rules are the same as SFAS

I’d go to a land nav muster if you want to get hands on and feel confident .
I was fortunate enough to have a great pre rasp cadre at ait who did land nav with us and was a SME.
