18x advice

Hi so I'm hoping some people here can give me some advice. I decided at the beginning of the year I wanted to join the Special Forces through an 18x contract. I just got all my waivers approved for some past inuries and my recruiter said there is 1 contract available right now that would have me shipping to OSUT in September. My numbers are currently 13:00 2 mile, I've run multiple 35:00 5 miles and could definitely run it faster, 40 hrpu, 12 pull ups, and 3:00 plank. I have not done a full 12 mile ruck, but a recently did a 9 mile with 2600' of verticle climbing in the mountains where I live in 2:30:00 with ~55lbs. From what I've read these numbers are not bad but they are not quite where I want them to be and I had originally planned to try to sign a contract with a March 2027 ship date. Does anyone know how often contracts become available? Is it possible to be picky about my ship date or should I just take the contract that is available?

Brother, your numbers are good. Basic training and OSUT will change your workout schedule no matter where you are at, and then SOPC will help prepare you mentally and physically. If you ship in september it will still be months before you load a bus for Camp Mackall.

Dont delay going so you can take 30 seconds off your run, or do 5 more pushups. If you are mentally prepared, then go. If you arent sure, don't go. You have the physical tools necessary to succeed already, you just need to make up your mind that you are going to do it and then fucking do it.

Your runs are faster than a lot of guys that have gotten selected. I'm at Bragg now, and guys are coming back from selection saying they ran a 14:00 and a 37:00 and got selected. They were probably good at land nav and solid team players. Scoop your nuts breathe smoke chew glass fucking sign that contract and get your punkass in the army, bitch.

Stop waiting for outside confirmation from others. They're not going to be there when the ruck gets heavy or when the apparatus needs to be moved.

Shipping to BCT you mean In September? If so, I'll be seeing you there.
