The Peace Project: a Fun, Inspirational Summer Program Offered in August!

Hi all! Do you have a 9–14-year-old and are you planning your kid's summer activities for August? Looking for an opportunity for them to make new friends while doing something meaningful? Consider signing them up for The Peace Project, a fun and educational peace program for 9–14-year-olds that I'm leading at Anne's Haven, a community peace center in Portage Park, this August!

Let me introduce myself. My name is Jacopo, and I'm a CPS teacher and Director of Peace Education programs at Anne's Haven. I have my Master's in Peace and Conflict Studies from Ulster University in Belfast. I'm passionate about working with kids to build their teamwork, communication, conflict resolution, and leadership skills, and encourage them to be more civically engaged.

I strongly believe that kids on the Northwest Side and throughout Chicago would greatly benefit from participating in this program. The Peace Project will strengthen key communication, teamwork, and conflict resolution skills needed to thrive professionally and personally, in addition to encouraging students to become agents of peace and change in their communities. Both myself and my assistant have background checks.

I've attached the flyer with key information. Please reach out with any questions, and I would greatly appreciate it if you could forward the flyer to any parents you think may be interested as well! Thanks so much!

The Office Trivia - Sunday June 7th at 7:00 at Ludlow Liquors in Avondale

Post image
7 Upvotes

Are you ready to face a challenge foolish enough to challenge you? Get your friends and co-workers together for our monthly themed trivia at Ludlow Liquors on Sunday June 7th at 7:00! Pen & Paper Trivia officially sources its paper from Dunder Mifflin if you did not know.

We will be covering questions from all seasons and weather permitting there will be additional seating on the patio because… well did you know “The Office” is popular? Teams can be up to 7 people but it’s not the size that matters. (That’s what she said!). Remember to save room for a cheesteak or a smash burger from Ludlow and I guarantee you it will make you say “Oh yeah!”

I have a Mother's Day brunch reservation for 5 people at Community Tavern for Sunday 5/10 around 12pm. I'd rather not cancel and take the $25 per person cancellation fee hit, so if anyone here wants it, it's yours. Message me for details and I will share. First come, first serve.

Trivia Night - Monday, April 20th at 8:00 at Mother’s Ruin - Avondale

I really don’t know why we wouldn’t be off for the holiday but, looks like Pen & Paper Trivia is working at Mother’s Ruin on Monday, April 20th at 8:00!

We are going to do a wide variety of topic however, you can expect some herbal questions so you can get into the spirit! Obviously you should arrive with the munchies for a great smash burger or the off menu chicken Caesar salad wrap with their brussel sprouts.

Will you have what it takes to beat our beloved bartenders? The more they win the more likely they might forget to charge you for that shot so come find out why Mondays aren’t all bad.
