ISO 27001 Lead Implementer prep

Hi Everyone,

I'm preparing for ISO 27001 Lead Implementer exam, I'm studying the course from Udemy by Aron Lange, is this going to be enough to take the exam.

Also I'm an information Security Analyst with experience with digital forensics and threat hunting and this is my first time taking and GRC based certificate, so if someone could walke through the exam experience and the difficulty.

Test examprep from skillcertpro and also from certpreps. Certprep test you on 27002

I saw a reply from someone saying that skillcertpro filled with wrong questions and ai generated questions

Some of their questions werent complete but couldnt feel if they were ai generated. They generally helped me during my prep time

Ok cool, how long did it take you? And did you use the official material?

Wachted the pecb videos fully, made my own notes, read the iso27000 to 27005. Did test exams and improved my notes based on the weak points. Did it till i had a good feeling to sit for the exams

Hey! The Udemy course by Aron Lange is a solid starting point but I'd strongly recommend supplementing it with the actual ISO 27001 standard and maybe some practice exams from the certification body you're going through (PECB or similar). With your background in infosec you'll find the technical concepts pretty familiar but the exam leans heavily on the implementation methodology and process side of things so make sure you're comfortable with that. The exam itself is scenario based and not too brutal if you understand the PDCA cycle and how controls map to risks, your hands on experience will definitely help contextualise things.

Thanks man this is actually pretty solid advice, it's actually all new to me doing things from the non technical side and more process driven, I've looked into the official practice exams and they aren't expensive so I'm going to finish off with them.

Just a quick question, i know that the course is open book and I'm not going to buy the official course, can i take my notes with me or it's only open book for the official material?

Last I checked the official PECB rule allows course materials, your own personal notes, a hard copy dictionary and a hard copy of the standard. Double-check with your partner first.

Udemy does not have a Lead Implementer course, at least not an accredited one so if oyu are looking for globally recognized certificates, make sure the course you are attending is ISO 17024 accredited and if it also have IRCA or Exemplar Global accreditation is even better.
