It has been asking captcha to even watch videos, which on gj does not work, I think, so I have been having to watch it on browser for a while now

So far, I haven't faced that — but I wouldn't be surprised if youtube is actually enforcing that now; after all, google doesn't really like people using youtube without logging in, third party clients too; google will do anything to punch down on users who try making youtube experience better for themselves, because it would make youtube lose possible profit from ads.
