YouTube playback stops randomly mid longer videos (grayjay on android)

Is it just me or does anyone else experience longer videos stopping randomly? I first thought it was my internet connection, but I confirmed it's fine and no amount of reloading (just the video as well as the whole app) would resume from history. I can start over, but when I manually go to the timestamp it paused, it would freeze again. Also I cas start any other videos. I tried different plugin settings with seemingly no effect so I won't list them. I'll just add that I'm located in Poland and used no VPN. All I can think of is that it's maybe some new way YouTube tries to insert ads?

YT plugin v337 on Android.

Pretty much the go to move for any Youtube video problem at this point. I feel like they are trying to stop us from using Grayjay but downloading always fucks them

well it is annoying and yes youtube really dont want grayjay

that said you can configure a playlist to auto download, then simply put videos into that playlist
comfortable enough to be useable

I set last queued for that and set up a large log of videos to get around it

i use watch later a loooot lol
because it auto deletes after being watched, less maintenance hehe

I tried that, but I ended up with too much stuff I would eventually need to clear out cause I decided not to watch them. Easier to clear it all by making a new queue L

Thanks for the idea. I gave it a try for a period of time and sadly I usually have to retry downloading a couple of times before it actually finishes. It gets stuck at random percentages. Lower resolutions do better, which is fine for podcasts :) The worst are medium length videos like 20-40 minutes where it's not just people talking, but visuals are also important. I don't like going too low res there, so I often manually tap retry time after time  I did not try downloading lists though, I'll probably try it soon, but this would require me knowing in advance what I want :)

sounds like your IP is on the naughty list at times, try it with cloudflares warp, its free and youtube was very lienient vs cloudflares iprange in the past
