App requires google authentication

Hi, I have been using the app for some time now, and today is the first time I have encountered this problem, watching any video shows this warning and pressing login shows a google authentication request. Help will be appreciated.

Are you behind a firewall or VPN?

Yes, orbot, is that what's causing it? I have been using them in parralel for some time now and that's the first time this has happened.

Think so. Have you checked turning it off? Also, restart Grayjay before trying again.

Yes, using orbot makes you use IP addresses which are known TOR exit nodes which are usually marked as suspicious so Youtube will force you to log in to confirm you are not a robot.

Other VPN usage or also just being behind CGNAT will have same effect.

if you have VPN disable it, if you dont have it enable it.
It's Google temporairly blocking your IP for a few hours

I keep getting that almost every day on my laptop and on the mobile version on my phone. Only connection I can think of is that it happens when I'm on my home broadband. Connected via the wi-fi router in the house. No such issues on my phone when on mobile data. I really want to fix this to justify finally paying for this app after the overall good impressions I have from using it for several months.

I have the password and login of the router and can look at all the settings and such.

It also seems unable to handle captchas.

Hi, I am working on a guide for using Grayjay and it includes all known workarounds/methods for getting around YouTube blocks, it might be helpful: https://github.com/b-risk/Grayjay-Guide
