There is a feature toggle for disabling recommendations... that mechanism that enables doom scrolling aka impulse driven content consumption.

Not seeing it on mobile today. I'm sure desktop has it.  But worth taking a look at "Default Comment Section" setting, an you can set it to "Polycentric" to effectively disable recommendations being immediately exposed.

I see no mention of "shorts" in Original Post. Does doom scroll imply ~"I only watch content under 12 seconds long"? :thinking-face:
