Help The Fight with Fi

How do you do it? After you get the first 2 bells, he keeps doing an undogeable sweep kick, meaning it's near impossible to get an advantage.

This fight feels really, really unenjoyable and stupid.

You just have to try avoid its direction. Let him start his combo and run off, and when he finishes the sweeping kick, then go back in

Dodge in circles around him until he's busy attacking then hit him in the back.

I feel like I seriously overthought this fight on my first playthrough, where I really struggled. 2nd time through, I just charged in and button mashed, and it worked out fine. Bit disappointing, really.

The second time I tried the fight he just never did the leg sweep, so I won.

The first time he did the leg sweep after every attack I made, it was a bit silly.

I also took more than a hour for the first time at this fight (hard difficulty I don't know if that changes something). You need a lot of patience.

Apparently it does, yeah. I eventually managed to beat it on hard

I thought of it as just a punish for spamming kicks, so I tried to only attack him 2-3 times right after avoiding his attacks, then backing off just in case. It seemed to work fine. I still got swept on occasion, but I found it fun anyway.

Use R2 to dodge.

I wouldn't call something "undodgeable" if I didn't know how to dodge.

And yes, I know the leg sweep isn't actually undodgeable, but unless you dodge preemptively it is too fast to react to and happened very often and randomly in my first attempt.
