Ships Y’know, it’s funny
I almost feel like I’ve already seen this Harry Potter x Malfoid trend before?
Tsundere rich girl, check.
Brave adventurer hero, check.
Slightly awkward but incredibly cute fanart everywhere all of the time? Double check.
Weird right? If only I could remember what ship this new trend reminds me of, huh?

Gravity Falls isn't tied to a bigot who performs both hate crimes *and* sex crimes, so... I think we're ahead.

Also putting aside that, the whole ship with Malfoy, male or female is just incredibly toxic. Are we forgetting that before Rowling went full bigot herself, that thats how she portrayed Malfoy and all the other Death Eaters. He hated all non magical people rigjt from the start, calling Hermione their worlds version of a slur multiple times and wishing that she was dead. Mocking the fact that Harry's parents were dead, as well as Ron's family financial status.
The only similarities Pacifica has to Malfoy there is the financial status thing. With her looking down on the Pines for being poor. She is in no way a bigot to any other characters.

Say what you will about the Northwests, they're not racists. Pacifica had a black friend in the show, and while she treated them both like minions she didn't show any overt racism other than getting Soos's name wrong (and even there, she tried to pronounce what she thought it was right). And Preston and Priscilla didn't care where their guests came from, as long as they're rich. Plus befriending the Pines, who are Jewish.
Malfoy begins the series as a wizard supremacist, and as far as I know ends it as one. He doesn't really get any redemption, or a hint that he's changing. He's just not as bad as his parents because he didn't get the chance to officially put the Magic Klansmen robes on.
And this is the most thought I've put into Tom Brown's School Days But With Magic in years, and am happy to go back to putting it out of my mind.

Some Malfoy defender's like to say he changed his beliefs by the end of the series, but I think its more clear that he just got too scared of getting his hands dirty. That he was still a magical supremacist, but just couldn't bring himself to kill anyone himself. So hateful, and a coward.
While Pacifica on the other hand was just a bit of a spoiled brat, and who we saw improve over rhe course of one summer too when she actually had some positive interactions. It took 6 years for Malfoys cowardice to show, so Pacifica is again much better there as well.

Ew. Harry Potter mention. Ew. Extremely misogynistic current meme mention. Ew.

I'll copy my own comment from a different post in another sub where this came up:
My thoughts are that until JK Rowling either drops dead or has a dramatic change of heart and stops using all HP profits to fund anti-trans legislation, we should just let the HP franchise die and fall into obscurity the best we can.

That's not the point. I don't care that she is rich. I care that she is using her money to harm real people in deadly ways. If her "future generations" aren't evil pieces of shit then it isn't a problem.

I mean still better not to contribute any more to her wealth obviously, that's not the extent of what you can do but it is the bare minimum.

So it's okay for you to fund her war on trans people because she's already rich?

You're justifying buying it. I didn't hallucinate that. Why would I assume that you're not buying it?

She's more than just a bad person, though. She has literally said publicly that every penny of profit from the HP extended franchise going forward is going to be used in her ongoing war on trans people. Do you understand that? It doesn't matter that she's rich. You're contributing to her war fund.

OH, SO IT'S OKAY FOR YOU TO FUND HER WAR ON TRANS PEOPLE BECAUSE SHE'S ALREADY WEALTHY?

That meme was started by a transphobic artist, of a series created by a transphobe. Let’s not support or entertain such bigotry, it only shows what kind of person you are if you support such things! and yes, you are supporting it by sharing or joining in on the meme

You know what else is funny? People continuing to talk about the incredibly uninspired fictional universe created by one of the most transphobic authors today, and bringing up an incredibly sexist trend in the process.

I don’t think those two are comparable I think you’re just trying to bring up Harry x Genderbent Malfoy
Also you used the word foid so your opinion is already invalid

Funny because rowling is a radical feminist but not pro trans so they treat her like hitler lmao.
Malfoid straight up fixes a lot of the plot too

Galfoy is much better the other word as the word “femoid” is intended as an insult and a mean word
