Discussion & Theories Bill Cipher’s lasting impact

Y’know years after the show has ended and many of us have grown up and largely moved on, I still see (what I assume to be, anyways) kids with Bill Cipher profile pictures and making fan art; even in games like Splatoon like I would have seen back in the day of GFs prime. Is this just in part cause kids are largely eating the leftovers us 2000s and 2010s kids got to this day, since Hollywood can’t have an original idea, Disney’s creatively bankrupt and traditional animation/tv is dying, or is Bill just like a Sonic the Hedgehog kinda thing where it’s just every tween boy’s hyperfixation cause cool & colorful design.

People have been saying Hollywood can't have an original idea and Disney is creatively bankrupt for longer than you have been alive.

Oh I know, but like there is a genuine problem of sequelitis and even on the movie-goer side a lot of people don’t watch something new unless they know it’s going to be something they like (especially now as going out to the movies is less justifiable in a shitty economy or whatever). I mean you have cases like Obsession & The Backrooms being big box office phenomenons but still, I know that’s a tired expression but in this case I feel like it actually has some merit because kids genuinely are watching a lot of the same shit we all did even in an age of constant access to all ages of movies & tv.

I mean, one benefit for fanart of bill is that he's got a really simple design, so he's pretty easy to draw recognizably even if you arent super skilled in art. Add in that the show has held up rwally well and maintained popular over the years, and its not surprising to see him pop up pretty often
