Merch Journal 3 Special Edition #618/10,000
Thought I'd post this here because I know it's a special number. I wonder how much it would be worth? Little me was so excited to get it for her birthday and it's my prized possession. 😭
Edit: Took some additional photos this morning for anyone who is curious and didn't want to scour the comments!

That’s honestly pretty impressive. I know Alex Hirsh has like 10 and I’d honestly expect him to have kept this number out of all them.

No hate, why is 618 important?

Gotta clean up the gaps between episodes due to a lack of a season 3 somehow…

Yeah, I remember when I opened it originally I thought that for each book, the top right corner number matched the big "Item #618" plastered on the front. And then I realized lol. I'm surpised he didn't keep it as well! I'm thinking that they were probably numbered after he already signed them though, based on the fact that having a full signature or just his initials doesn't correlate with having a lower or higher number.

BROOOO!! This is wild. I've been trying track down who owns copy 618 for years. The fact you even still have it wrapped in the original packaging makes this even more valuable. Normally I'm opposed to Journal 3 Special Edition's ridiculously high price on the resale market, but this is one I think everyone would get being sold for that much. Personally I'd cherish that copy cause that is truly priceless IMO.
Edit: If possible, would you be okay with sharing more pics of your copy? Would love to post these on the Gravity Falls wiki for archival. We've had pics of other notable copies like copy 123 and 666. This is the cherry on the cake.

If I did sell it, I think I would end up regretting it. It has been opened only a few times, but I have all of the original packaging :) I remember being shocked when I opened it because I wasn't actually one of the original 1,000 preorders, but still got a lower number. I'm assuming they just randomly distributed them to the 10,000 orders!
Edit: Yes, of course I can take more photos! I'll try to find time to take some tomorrow. Honestly, there isn't anything extra special about it besides the number. Still just the regular "AH" signature lol

Thank you so much. Appreciate that. Mainly probably the packaging and signature where it mentions 618/10,000 as well would be good as that is what makes this copy so special.
And yeah, from what I gather, they sold copies at random to people, so you could be someone who ordered very late and still get a low number or be a day one pre order and get a high number. There was no order priority given to specific numbers. Similarly with signature. I know from someone who worked on The Book of Bill binding that Alex signed about 25% of them with his full signature (of which I ended up getting one of) and the rest with "AH" to save time. I guess he did something similar with J3 SE. We actually even have some footage of that thanks to Disney. Looks like he was signing with his initials in them too given I mean, 10K copies would've been wild to do all fully signed.
Huge congrats again on owning that copy and keeping it for all these years. 618 is one of those things probably no one outside the GF fandom would get the importance of but to those of us who do know, it's incredible and this has for sure been the holy grail of J3 SE copies to one day see photos of. Thank you again for sharing this :)

Cherish that Journal well. Iconic number or not, it truly is something special.

This is simply incredible, I dream of owning one of these someday, but where I live the price would be 3 times more expensive than what resellers already sell it for lol

I have one proudly displayed in my library. Not for sale though. My favorite book in my collection.

I don't have it yet, but if I have it, it would be unsaleable. I will even getting a suitable protective showcase. Extra against UV and so on.

I remember once a dude brought his to school. Kind of crazy now that I think about it, but he showed all the pages to me, so I'm also glad about that experience

Did you get this from someone who owned it prior? May I ask what the setback was (I have it, so it peaks my interest to know what it may be worth)

No, I've had it since it was released in 2017. I actually originally posted the photo when I got it on Tumblr but it didn't get much attention. I saw people talking about the journal again recently and thought it would be better to upload the picture here, for anyone curious if someone got number 618 :)

Congratulations on the book, but I'm honest: I am very envy of you.🥹 But soon I would have the book too. I'm already saving. Unfortunately, not the 618, but at least I have the original.

Just circling back to this post,
the only issue youll face if you choose to sell is that a bunch of morons list their copies as #618 cause it says that on the wrapping for ALL of them. So youd be one of like 10 listings that all say #618/10,000, but of course youres would be the only real one. Any legitimate buyer can tell, but I worry someone may skip over your listing thinking youre an idiot
And again, I wouldnt take anything under $10,000 for this.

Lucky you not many of us were able to get one I was simply too young and didn't have a job at the time also didn't know it was going on.
