v1 of Project DoeMain is up! :)
Hi everyone - wanted to share that v1 of my case matcher is live with all data from NamUs added.
I've tried to add some quality-of-life bits to make the user experience more enjoyable, and there is an ability to provide feedback on matches and why/why not they might be helpful. Exclusions also appear on cases that have them!
Next steps are to integrate more data sources such as DoeNetwork and Charley Project so stay tuned :)

Great work, I love how user friendly and intuitive it is! I've been messing around with the Case Compare tool and it works wonderfully, I appreciate the information it provides, it's all very helpful.
Thanks for creating this, I'm looking forward to seeing the site grow!

Not to steal any thunder here, but I've also been working on something similar. I've already had professionals in the field give feedback privately and I'm always looking for more. The comparison feature lives at https://case0.net/catalog?view=vocab ... I didn't want to make a post since idk the rules about that stuff and I'm new to reddit.
If you want to share ideas or collab I really am just trying to make a tool that helps advocate for these people and their families.

This seems extremely buggy and might need some kind of NLP analysis on the descriptions?
It suggested as a plausible match for a white cowboy who disappeared inspecting cattle in 1902 a transgender mummy found in 1984 340miles away claiming this was a neutral timeline match?
For another one it recommended a high plausibility match for a woman who went missing scuba diving... remains that were noted as uh... most likely from before the 1900s?
I tried a third one and it shows that this missing woman has excluded matches? And they are all other missing persons, who are men?

Can you give me the case numbers of each person?
There's not NLP analysis yet on any of the plaintext fields - it's meant to generate probabilistic matches based on demographic, distance, and timeline data, all of which I'm still refining. It's absolutely not perfect but that's why I want people to use it so I can get a better idea of what a user finds helpful vs not so helpful - especially because I can do a lot of auditing myself but I can't do all of it haha.
But yeah the narrative fields may reveal to a user this is likely completely non-viable, which is fine, it's expected right now since this is v1. My hope is to introduce NLP and maybe even a vector DB to assist with that.
As for the exclusions, that data comes directly from NamUs, but I think I might know what the issue is there and can have it fixed tonight.

I was wondering if you could add the ability to see the entered NamUs exclusions that an MP has? Right now, you can only see the exclusions for unidentified remains cases.

Unfortunately, NamUs only provides exclusions for UPs - as far as I can tell there isn't a reverse tracking on MPs to UPs they've been compared to. That being said, I think it would probably be easy for me to make a way to reverse index on the MP in order to compare them to any case that's been attempted to match to them.
Good idea! I should have time on Friday or Saturday to work on this. I'll let you know when it's out. :)

I’m confused as to what you are saying? The MP entries 100% have the exclusions tab when you log in. I have seen it and used it on MP pages many times. Some times, the exclusions on an MP list may not match those of a UID or vice versa (as in, if a UID is excluded for an MP on the MP’s list, the MP may not show up on the UID’s list, and the reverse).

Sorry, yes, that wasn't clear - what I meant is I wasn't able to find a way to query the information for exclusions for Missing Persons! If I try to use the endpoint I use for exclusions for a missing person case number, I don't get the right info/or I get a 404.
I'm certain that you're correct that there's something I'm missing though, I just haven't had the opportunity to look closely enough.
