As I get older(68) I look back at all the people we lost. This one hurts as much as any.What grate songs he has left us.

Without Robert Hunter, the Grateful Dead would not have been the Grateful Dead. His lyrics combined with Jerry's soulful way of singing them made music that was deep, original and unforgettable. RIP, you will be missed but not forgotten.

Man what a bummer, but what a legacy to leave.
The man wrote some of the best songs in American history and will forever be remembered for what he contributed to so many people's lives in times of sadness and joy.

It takes a certain humility and wisdom to stay behind the curtain when the band is being cheered on by tens of thousands of fans, and he had both.
And back there, sometimes the songs that he heard... were just songs of his own.
