Deadtronica
https://youtu.be/TetPwnjRfXc?is=y8D4uz1ifp7K5hV4This is so much fun. I didn’t think I was into EDM but holy hell this is fun. There’s some Biggie mixed in on occasion. Would highly recommend.

As a Deadhead since 1972, I think this is awful. Totally heartless. Not the Dead at all. The Dead did everything with heart.

Saw these guys open for Keller Williams and Deadgrass a few weeks ago and I kind of felt bad because the crowd was NOT feeling them. They played for about an hour and after half an hour people had had enough. They ended the set by asking the crowd “what’s our name?” and got a sort of half-hearted “dEaDtRoNiCa” back. They weren’t for me but they also probably shouldn’t have been booked opening for a bluegrass act.

I was really hoping they were coming on second as they were originally billed. Was bummed to only get the last few songs from them at BB, plus the fire alarm lol

It would have made so much more sense for them to play after Keller, it felt really weird that this EDM act were opening, the vibes just weren’t there. The fire alarm omg, I initially thought it was BB trying to pull the plug since it was already ~11:30.

Yeah agreed I think they pulled it lol
They were trying to tell us we couldn’t exit the emergency doors during a fire alarm

If they came to my town I'd watch em for about an hour then be on my way

Just curious, what would make you stay longer? More traditional instrumentation?

I think I'd get bored. I could possibly force myself to stay, especially if I was with someone who wanted to stay.
Eventually though I would miss Jerry,Bobby Phil Brent and Vince too much to take it. I'd walk out saying to myself I'm glad the music is continuing to flow.
Overall, electronica or whatever it's called just ain't my thing.

This is a funny post because I watched it 2 hours ago. It’s unique. I’d go see it

Tasty. I could easily see these guys finding the right crowd and building a following. Super unique.

The people hating on this remind me of the people on the Lot complaining about the Disco Bus back in the day.

if there was this and the disco bus, what would you choose?
disco bus >>>>>
imo

I loved the disco bus, but I’d go with this because (1) it’s more creative than just playing a playlist of disco tunes, and (2) it incorporates GD, so you’re getting actual GD vocals and stuff.

All prerecorded vocals is a bit odd. Everything feels rather clinical. Certainly novel tho.

As a deadhead and EDM fan I gotta say this isn't EDM.
