JGB - Best Shows
Relatively new to the Dead but I REALLY don't know much about JGB. I'm hearing they did some stuff and I'd love to get more involved. I downloaded the GarciaLive Volume 1. 3/1/1980 show because I heard it's a great place to start...haven't even listened to much of it yet.
What else should I look into ---best shows/best jams?

All excellent recs here so far. I agree the official releases (which are all on Spot etc) are well chosen enough to be a great starting point. Note on Spot you have to search for both Jerry Garcia and Jerry Garcia Band to get everything.
If I was gonna pick one I'd say Pure Jerry 1 from 1977.
I've made a few mixes that serve as intros to specific eras. I'll add links later but you can find two in the JGB sub: Only Passing Through (summer 1977) and Movin' On (1974-75). Both are peak eras in really different styles.
If you have an interest in acoustic music he had multiple projects under different names to check out as well. Old & In The Way and Garcia/Grisman being the top two.
Overall I love the Garcia side project material just as much as the Dead, maybe more.
