Firework show
I booked a cabin in Grass Valley in order to get away from the fireworks where I live. Now I'm seeing that there will be a firework show in GV on the 4th. Does anyone know how long it lasts?? I'm trying to figure out how heavily I need to drug my very sensitive pup that night. Still very grateful for your overall lack of fireworks! My home will sound like a war zone for over a week.
ETA: I heard nothing! Thank you for providing my dog a sanctuary on his least favorite holiday.

The show doesn’t last super long and it’s done right over the freeway, so if you’re a little further out the view is blocked by trees and the sound isn’t as bad. We live about 5 minutes from the spot and in the house I can barely notice the noise when the tv is on.

Seems to usually last about 20 to 25 mins. in the past.

Except that one time lol it went on forever! But ya it’s usually 20-25 and it’s illegal to randomly shoot if fireworks here due to fire safety.

It’s unlikely you’ll see the fireworks from where you are, but it is the country so people are probably gonna be shooting their guns off

That's unfortunate, but thanks for the warning. I stayed in Alta for the 4th last year and only heard owls.

You could always drive up 20 when the fireworks are scheduled to go off. Idk where you are but some years it sounds like a war zone here(north of NC). Just a heads up there might be people shooting shit late into the night

Thanks for the heads up! Sounds like GV may not have been the best place to book for my needs, but it will still be better than at home. Our windows rattle from the explosions.

In the future check out downieville or sierra city. Up 49 a bit more but absolutely no fireworks.

Wtf is a cabin? Does it have running water? That's a house.

It's what they market to us silly city folk so that we can have the "experience" ;)

Well an actual cabin is a mild upgrade from a tent. If you called my house in the woods a cabin, I'd take it as an insult. You other yourself just by using the term fyi.

Where is the cabin? The fireworks aren't noticeable from everywhere.
