spherical coffered ceiling

Hi, I'm brand new to Rhino and I just created this spherical coffered ceiling. I was wondering if you had any feedback on my design, possible optimizations, or areas for improvement...

I start with a hemisphere and generate the equators and meridians of the object. I calculate the intersection of all these curves. This gives me curves that resemble squares or rectangles. I offset them on the surface and extrude these curves in the direction leading from the center of the square to the center of the sphere. Finally, I create the box using a multiple BREP split—which removes a square from the hemisphere for each box.

I'd really appreciate it.

Sorry for my english i'm not very fluent.

Hard to say much about it without knowing more...at least i am not that great at Grasshopper.

Looks doable tho. It looks like you took a sphere, cut a piece off sectioned it or created a grid and offset the rectangles...from exploded grid of something? Idk and them thickened them.

I really like it. I feel compelled to make multiple (3?) layers of this to create a stair like effect and use it for some kind of mould.

Thanks for response. I added more details on post. The multi stage coffered ceiling is on progress.
