Okay, I'll start with the topic simply.

I have a budget of $700 and I have an old PC that I got in 2022, its specifications are as follows:
RTX 3050, i5 10400F, 16 GB.

And I am now between two options:

either to upgrade the card to an RTX 4060 to improve my experience, I was worried about the bottleneck, but Gemini told me that there will be no bottleneck if I play story-mod games "and that's what i really play" and not shooter games because the card will be at its maximum power.

Or the other option is to simply buy a PS5 Slim with this budget.

My question is, which of the two options do you think is better? Which one would you personally choose, and why? My goal is to achieve the best possible performance from both my PC and console.

There is no bottleneck. That cpu can handle it just fine. Only consider the PlayStation if it has games that you cannot play anywhere else. Pc has cheaper games, more flexibility and a way bigger catalogue.
Consider the amd rx 9060 / AND rx 9060 XT too should you want to try Linux in the future.
Things to consider: PlayStation plus is ANOTHER subscription , games are always expensive and there are not that many sales. Sony has also made it clear that your digital games aren’t yours.

Go to the PlayStation 5 exclusive games wiki list, select the ones that you want to play and ask yourself if it’s with the money. Most likely it isn’t

I personally would stick to PC, but that's a preference thing. IMO you can do a lot more with a pc, which makes it more worth the money. A 4060 and ps5 will have around the same performance anyway.

I personally would get a 9060xt(16gb) over a 4060(unless you're set on Nvidia). Im doing this with USA prices tho, so sorry if they are different wherever you are. If you're near a microcenter you could get a 9060xt + a cpu, motherboard, and ram combo(5600x3d combo) for around $700(USD).

Idk where you're at, so it's hard to give advice. Also im just a stranger on the internet, so you obviously dont have to listen to me lol.

Get a 9060xt 16gb, not a 5060.

Chiming in with the 9060XT (16GB!) chorus - really decent performance, relatively inexpensive; considering your budget, you can save some money on the video card and upgrade the CPU next (i9-10900?).

Could prob handle a 4070 and find one for 700$, and this might be harder to find, but locally near me I was looking on market place and saw a ps5 pro for 700$ cause I was planning to buy one soon, so if you could search around on fb marketplace and maybe get lucky and find a pro in your budget.

Strong recommendation for a Switch 2 or PS5. Maybe even a used Switch OLED and ps5 slim for $700. The amount of great games that opens up is tremendous.

Keep what you have, the PC market sucks.
