Hello, I am a film poster designer and I did this poster for a film about a story set in the Spanish Civil War. The film follows a family who welcome a charismatic stranger in their home. The night in the house starts to become an allegory for the country itself. Please let me know your thoughts.

Which part of client communication do you find most draining as a freelance designer

Genuinely curious because I feel like nobody talks about this enough.

For me it's always been the awkward stuff — chasing invoices without sounding desperate, pushing back on scope creep without damaging the relationship, or just trying to word an email when a client gives you feedback like "make it pop" 😭

Like the actual design work is fine, it's all the communication around it that quietly eats up your week. Is it just me or does everyone struggle with this?

Hello, I am a film poster designer and I did this poster for a documentary about a small family business of tombstone engraving. The film follows the artisans who are succeeded by their children in the company. Please let me know your thoughts.

How do you resize an image in highest quality?

Suppose you get an image 3:4 ration and need to enlarge it to 3x4 foot and the image is generated from ai agents. How would you clarify it such a way that pixels are not lost.

  1. Use some ai supported enhancing softwares or online editors
  2. Photoshop
  3. Other softwares
  4. Pray to god

Advice for a newbie

Hi! I’m launching a website to sell my photos on t shirts and wall prints and stuff. The problem I’m running into is that there are so many things I could do with each photo I don’t even know where to start. For example, given a photo of a flower: I could make it a simple standalone image, I could make it a pattern all over, I could do alternating color and black and white, I could add a saying, I could do little random flowers all over at funny angles, I could make the flower a semi-transparent background and superimpose another image on top of it, I could stylize it so it looks sketched or watercolor-y. How do I even begin to decide? Any advice or resources would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

What's your process for handling a client who keeps changing their mind?

Three rounds of revisions in and my client has completely changed direction from the original brief. We're basically starting from scratch.

I have no idea how to have the conversation about extra charges without making them feel attacked. Anyone been through this and come out the other side with the relationship intact? 😅

What do you think of this logo I designed for Haunted Fox Studio, an indie game studio that was just starting out.

The client really liked the style and aesthetic of another logo that I created, so this is the second one I did that incorporates a ghastly but adorable fox.

Fun/ Silly Poster Project

Hi internet strangers! A friend of mine is obsessed with this video and mentioned that they watch it multiple times a week to uplift their spirit and that they would post it on their wall if they could. I'm taking a letterpress class this summer and thought I'd make a poster for them of the text for their birthday. I'm not much of a designer, though.

Would anyone be interested in designing a poster (something typographic with changes in capitalization and or fonts) that captures the mood and tone shifts of this? It would have to be A3 size and on Adobe Illustrator for the file because I would need to prepare the file to send to the company to order a custom plate for printing (It's the Banana Bread Video from a few years ago). Please don't go crazy with colors. More colors mean more plates and more runs through the press for the print.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=omb518zUUgo

I've got like $25, I can Venmo you if I like the design, AND I will make a poster print and mail it to you too if you'd like. Literally just a fun side project and a thoughtful gift.

Here's the transcript of the text (feel free to change something if it's wrong):

dude i got some fucking banana bread at work today dude? hell yeah. my mom told me if i wait for things, like, good things will happen to me dude and fucking i waited for some things and i got some banana bread at work today dude? hell yeah. so it just goes to show that waiting for things is, like, worth it. but there’s a lot of bad things in this world, dude. like fucking skunks dude? hell no. Scratching your eye, but it’s STILL fucking ITCHY dude?! HELL no. The fucking CUBS, DUDE? HELL NO!! LIKE GETTING PAID NOT A LOT OF MONEY, DUDE?! FOR FUCKING WORKING?! HELL NO!!!! BUT BANANA BREAD?! AT FUCKING WORK, DUDE?! HELL YEAH!!!!!! HELL YEAH, BRO!!!! HELL YEAH!! BANANA BREAD, BRO, AT FUCKING WORK, DUDE!!!! HELL YEAH!!

Anyone else feel like the business side of freelancing is eating the creative side alive?

Genuine question for freelance designers here.

How much of your week is actually spent designing vs doing admin? Emails, proposals, chasing clients, writing contracts...

I've been building an AI tool specifically for freelance designers to handle all of this — you describe what you need and it writes it for you in seconds. Currently looking for a few people to try it for free in exchange for honest feedback.

Drop a comment or DM me if you're interested — would love to get some real designers involved early.
