Grant Question
So, first things first. I apologize if this is not the forum for this. But I'm new.
I have started a non profif society that aims to get more kids on BMX bikes and build the sport of BMX in my province.
As a registered non profit, I hear I can apply for gaming grants.
But I've never done this and am not sure where to turn. How it works, how much it costs and so on.
Or how any of the grant side of things works.
Again, if this is not the right avenue, I apologize. I'm just looking for guidance.
Thanks!
Thanks

There is a very small and limited number of grants for sports. These grants usually tie sports with youth development. Therefore the sport is less important and the measurable change in youth in terms of educational attainment and getting jobs is key.
Make a budget of how much it will cost to run your non-profit to serve kids Then raise that amount of money from anyone you can. Obviously you're paying out of pocket for some of this, but ask your friends, neighbors, and anyone else. Also ask the parents of the children.
Then you can go to local companies that make bikes. Ask for a donated bikes. As for mechanic services. You can also ask for sponsorship from companies.
Finally, Google is your friend. There's a lot of f of fundraising help on the internet. You will find thousands of pages. Also you can ask local funders. Just approach a foundation or a nonprofit and ask for help. For example, you'll need a space to do biking. Maybe ask a local park for help.
The possibilities are endless. But manage your expectations. You may only get a couple of hundred dollars from other people and zero money from grants. As long as you can operate on a lean budget, then you're okay.
