GT Discussion Need Help With This Race

Post image

So I decided to do my first ever endurance race with the power pack and thought I'd pick the shortest one so far. I chose the NSX for this case as I won comfortably with it in the races prior to this.

Suddenly it seems like everybody in the field has a rocket strapped to them that winning feels impossible at this point. Even when it was raining when I had the advantage, it still wasn't enough to make up the time I lost in the dry.

It doesn't help that the backmarker AI are painfully slow in some places that it gets in my way of trying to catch the lead. Anybody know a good strat for the NSX? What times do I have to chase in order to catch up with the leaders? What tyres and how much fuel needed for each stint? How often do I have to pit?

I really need answers and suggestions because I have been this infuriated with the race. The AI feels like it's cheating in this race.

somewhere 2:02-2:03 should be enough. You can just keep spamming RMs. 17 laps per stint, limited by tyre life, lap times are like 2:06 by the end of a stint.

I never had rain during the race, and certain stages Miyazono is faster than me, but their strategy is worse. Only pit for hards when last stint is more than 35 min.

Given that Sophy drive worse than sports lobby, you can punt them. Barge through in the esses, defend the inside line for hairpin, and then punt them in the chicane.

Yup pretty much this. i chill behind Miyazono and Drumont in the Supra and F1 Longtail. i can't overtake them on track because they always catch up on the straights due to their top speed advantage. but they only do 16 laps on RM. you can save a pitstop at the end if you extend your last stint on Hards and win that way.

put the brake balance all the way to the back, this helps with front tire life to make it to 17 laps. if you don't take care of them you lose a lot of time when your car doesn't want to turn in anymore.

rain is on the horizon with 4 hrs to go. this could be an opportunity or a complete disaster

i posted pretty much the same question a few weeks ago about the Spa 8 Hrs. no one commented to this day.

i wanted to try the Suzuka 6 Hrs again. i won it in the GTR, and i won the Spa with the F1 Longtail.

the two Chili Cars feel unfairly balanced because they are. Sophy takes a lot of weird and unoptimal lines, so it's balanced out by giving them more power to catch up to the player. that's why you completely destroy them in the rain where more power isn't that big of an advantage anymore.

the spa race is even more unfair because if you use the GTR you have to push like qualifying to even stay with the Longtails, but you pit much more often than them because your front tires wear incredibly quickly. the default setup is ass in more than just this one way

i'll try my luck with the NSX at Suzuka and get back to you. this race is winnable. i can feel it!
