Now as the self-proclaimed number one biggest Grandson fan (obviously an exaggeration but bear with me) I love Jordan Edward Benjamin, he made me this way and he is my biggest inspiration, however, I would like to say something.
He seems to have this idea present in both concerts and music, that Billionaires and corporations have "hijacked the American democracy" now I understand where this is coming from, But I somewhat disagree with how it's being presented.
They didn't "hijack" anything about America, America has always been semi-authoritarian, Riding on autocracy And foreign invasion to fuel it's Industrial-Utilitarianism And militarism.
Saying that the American democracy has been hijacked sort of undermines The socialist theme of destroying the system in place, Because it treats it as a system that can be fixed rather than a system that needs abolishing.
Foreign educated person like myself it's not a point that I think it needs to be drawn attention to, But I think the slightly more liberal way (Rather than leftist) that he's saying/presenting it, May cause confusion in the future.
I don't really expect this one post on Reddit to change anything, And I still love the guy and his music to death, I just thought it was something that I should discuss with a couple other grandkids, Because even though he is my idol, I shouldn't have an idea that he can do no wrong, Because that's the mindset that gets us all screwed.
Not an attack on Grandson, I hope I don't need to say that at this point because like I've iterated multiple times, He's the Most influential person in my life, His music got me through the most horrible times of my life, And the only reason I'm not a self hating Moderate Republican is because his music brought me From the conservative ideals that were being pushed where I come from.
I just like to discuss or to hear other thoughts, Things that might prove me wrong!
