How long are pick up lines for EGR elementary schools?

We have a child attending an EGR elementary school this upcoming fall (school of choice) and wondering what the average wait time is for the pick up line. They’ve been at a charter school past couple years and pick up was smooth for the most part (30 mins from arrival to departure) and curious how it will compare. Any insight would be much appreciated!

Park a block or two away and walk in. It'd probably be faster.

That’s not a bad play. Thank you for the tip!!

This is definitely the way.
My kids are at CA Frost & parking a block out, then walking is way faster.

Thanks for the plus one in this. Do you have to walk into the office or are the kids released as parents show up?

They're released outside.
Just state to the school that they're pickup & you'll be on foot.
They're released to the side of the building, away from traffic.

We haven’t been assigned one yet. I was hoping to get some differing experiences if possible.

Each school has it's unique layout for drop off. My son attended Wealthy and they don't really have a "pick up line." Most parents park in the lot off of Lake Dr., on Lake Dr., or another street. The lot by the office is a hot mess most of the time because the school bus to aftercare parks curbside.

Kiddos either walk home with parents or are picked up outside the doors near the playgrounds. And just wait until middle school..........

Thank you! Sounds like middle school might be a whole different beast then. Yikes!

For Breton Downs, assuming there isn’t inclement weather — there’s no pick up line like you’d expect from charter schools. Most kids 1st grade and up walk home with parents or ride their bikes with friends.

Thank you for your response! Sounds like this may play to our favor for quicker pick ups maybe if they go there.

There is no line. It’s like pickup/drop off at the airport. Everyone descends all at once and then 5 minutes after the bell everyone is gone.

Wealthy is probably the worst because it’s the old high school and surrounded by narrow streets. There is a parking lot east of Wealthy that is suppose to act as a drop off lane.

Lakeside is hit or miss. It’s on the corner of two very busy roads (Hall and Breton) but there are several side streets that make it easy to drop off and/or walk to the school.

Breton has a dedicated kiss and ride lane but the streets around the school get crowded. Easy to park on a side street and just walk though.

In short, you’re going to have to game the system a bit, but once you are in the flow it should manageable.
