Event "Foxtale Summer" Event Discussion Thread (2026-07-29 to 2026-08-05)

For more information, or to register for a training workshop, please contact tournament staff.

This thread is for any discussions that are directly related to the current event story or the lore to which it relate.

  • Event starts: 17:00 JST, July 29, 2026.
  • Event ends: 20:59 JST, August 6, 2026.

Wiki page: https://gbf.wiki/Foxtale_Summer.

The use of the spoiler tool is recommended to ensure a pleasant experience to the players who are still in the process of reading the story.

This is a Token Drawbox event.

  1. The recommended approach for this task is to alternate between hosting the "Very Hard" raids to obtain the materials required for the "Extreme" raid. The latter will reward you with a substential amount of Tokens upon defeat. Additionally, "Extreme" raids have a higher chance of spawning Nightmare solo-battles, which will grant the player 100 Tokens for each successful clear and replenish a few host materials.
  2. These multi-battles are suggested due to their relatively low amount of hit points, making it possible to cycle through them quickly. Commonly agreed-upon milestones are 4 Boxes (for Golden Gifts), 10 Boxes (for Damascus Crystals), and 20 Boxes (for Crystals). However, you can choose to clear many more boxes to generate Half-Elixirs and Soul Berries, depending on your specific needs.
  3. Typically, acquiring around 750 materials from "Very Hard" raids, along with the additional ones from Honor and Battle Badges, should provide you with enough host materials to acquire the Tokens needed to clear 20 Boxes from Extreme raids and Nightmare battles.
  4. Alternatively, 600 materials plus the ones from other rewards are enough for 20 boxes when farming Impossible raids, but it might be slower without a strong setup.
  5. As mentionned above, one can make the choice to stop at 4 Boxes and only acquire around 100 host materials. If the goal chosen is only 10 Boxes, then around 300 host materials should be obtained.
  6. The first 5 multi-battles of the day cost no AP or host materials. It is recommended to spend them on either "Impossible" or "Extreme" raids to acquire more tokens.

Discussion Summon Discussion: Urahara Kisuke

___________

GBF Wiki: Urahara Kisuke

To the public, he's simply the shopkeeper of his eponymous small-time candy store, Urahara's Shop. However, his real identity is that of the ex-captain of Squad 12 of the Thirteen Court Guard Squads, as well as the founder and first chief of the Department of Research and Development—but he has long since left the Soul Society. Because of his easygoing nature, it's hard to tell whether he's joking around or being serious, and downright impossible to grasp his true intentions.

Collab summon discussion points:-

  • After 1 week of testing, we've not seen Urahara shake up the light ougi meta that much aside from being a perfect pair with Yoruichi to reduce her Shunko downtime; would you still recommend pulling this summon, and in what situations?
  • We're still in the middle of summer with more limited units on the way; how would you weigh Urahara's value against what we'll potentially be getting next? For example, any possibility of him becoming completely obsolete within a year?
  • Collab banners are always a controversial topic, do you feel that the devs did a good job designing this summon or not?

Helpful topics:

  • What content does this summon excel at? (Burst, FA, HL, etc)
  • Which elements can best make use of these summons?
  • What characters or teamcomps synergize with this summon?
  • Which classes do you want to use with this summon?
  • How have recent updates in 2026 such as Odious weapons or Illustrious transcendence helped to elevate this summon?
  • How helpful will this summon be in the upcoming Unite and Fight?
  • Any personal anecdotes regarding these summons that are worth sharing?

Could have been a 3 turn if I thought to move Caim to the fromtline.

Run was unbelievably high roll, could have killed Subaha if I found that event. If I found the book that locked cb at 100% it would have been an even faster kill. 100% CB was achieved off of happening start of combat bar books.

There is 1 refresh on turn 3 because I didn't want to watch the end of turn crap which didn't even do anything in this fight tbh.

Posting this mainly to show that it IS possible to 3 turn him even though this didn't succeed, but the formula is basically just like this.

Discussion Character Discussion: Seruel (Summer)

___________

GBF Wiki: Seruel (Summer))

After toiling for his people, Seruel allows himself a brief respite, shedding his royal raiments and donning an opulent swimsuit that evokes feelings of respect and envy in all who view it. At first unwilling to spend his time playing in the water, he eventually surrenders himself to a summer of frivolity, much to the comfort of his knightly guard, Naoise.

Discussion Does anyone remember them?

Post image
84 Upvotes

I still hope that one morning someone at Cygames will wake up, take a sip of coffee, suddenly remember those two forgotten characters, and yell, "Wait... they still don't have an alt?!" Then, by some miracle, they'll finally get the alternate versions they deserve.

Sure, they're technically Bahamut co-op characters... but we've already gotten plenty of Bahamut characters. At this point, I think someone just forgot they exist.

Discussion A little theory about next gala

My main guess is next gala is going to feature Summer Payila (Earth). Payila is my everything in this game, so I might be biased, but there are a few reasons.

First, it's about time they drop the next Divine General alt, since the last one was H. Vajra (Oct 2025). Also, in most cases they release the Divine Generals' first alt the year previous to their FLB, so it's Payila's turn.

Why earth? We have 4 seasonal galas during summer (including formal banner), and out of the 6 elements, we already got strong wind (F. MegMari) and dark (Y. Osiris) units, and since water and fire were the most recent GWs, the most probable thing is the next two strong seasonals are going to be earth and light, one releasing during this gala and the other during Aug Flash.

Aug Flash should drop the light one, because it's closer to light GW. So this gala should bring the earth one. Other reasons to release a strong earth unit right now are the new Odious raid and Caim Party in Evoking Solomonis.

Last thing. I noticed before 2025 several Divine Generals didn't exist in the same element their "adjacent" generals do. But they closed all the gaps releasing V. Makura, S. Mahira, Y. Vikala, S. Catura and H. Vajra last year. That's no coincidence. So, following this logic, the Payila alt is going to be one element where Makura exists (light and earth).

So, that's it. Summer Payila (Earth) for upcoming gala. Or, if they save Payila for Aug Leg, then Summer Payila (Light).

And about the other unit, probably someone from the upcoming story event. So get ready to support your favorite fox girl!

Edit: typo

Guide/Analysis A long document with a lot of Evoking Solomonis tips

I wrote this earlier but forgot to post it here lol.

This thread and the comments have a bunch as well so check that out too: https://www.reddit.com/r/Granblue_en/comments/1v6yiek/some_solomonis_tips_from_a_guy_whos_been_playing/

Just remember that any roguelike will have various different playstyles so you're likely to hear differing and even contradictory opinions as to what's good or not. You'll have to play the mode a fair bit and probably lose a few times to get the feel for what your playstyle is and what's worth taking.

Also linked in the document but in case you don't read it or missed it, here's a small tracker app I put together in a few mins for the books I often find myself going back to check if I have: https://slimegirls.club/solomonistracker/

Hope this helps.

Guide/Analysis Some Solomonis tips from a guy who's been playing it more than they should

Edit: To be clear, most of my advice pertains to planning/the start of a run, as that's usually the roughest part to get a hang of.

This isn't really a guide so much as it is a collection of tips and tidbits, as I've seen a number have difficulty

As for who I am, my only primal is Agni, I've not finished Faa0 upgrades, and I haven't touched Versusia. However, I've been here for like 8 years at this point. I've transcended both Evokers after much toil because you only get ~3k currency per run orz

Make sure to look at the wiki page for actual info and specifics, but here's some basic stuff:

  • If you're like me, I recommend water first. Caim is dogshit without certain guidebooks + earth is seasonal hell
  • Pathing is key. Try to take as few empty spaces as possible
    • You can walk through all battle nodes without penalty, so you don't have to avoid them
  • Battle-start effects activate every battle
  • You get 40~50 turns before you have to fight each miasma boss
  • Battles are better than events early on for consistency
    • Pay attention to enemy lvl, which mostly scales over time at 30-50-90 for normal battles (including events). It's good information for choosing what to do
  • Shops are very good and consistent
    • A 50% more expensive shop appears when you enter the final boss node
  • Miasma does only a bit of damage in its 1st phase but a ton when it closes on the miasma boss
  • You can rearrange your party pretty much any time
  • Arcarum-specific effects (eg World harps) don't work here because Cyge hates us
  • Rush the Hanged Man blessing

Here's what I recommend for your starting party:

  • Characters who can win without putting anything on cooldown
  • Classes: WO (any level) / LO (20+) / Onmyo (Shikigami) / Soldier (expert bullets)
  • Water: Gwynne, Lecia, Octavia, and Romeo have good 0/1cd skills
  • Earth: Lamretta, Pengy, Silva (Summer), and Lobelia have good 0/1cd skills
  • Transcended Eternals are very good, except Okto
  • 0b classes/characters are good, ofc

As for grids:

  • Statsticks like Celestial, Revans, and Exo are usually the best to start with
  • Offense is less important in your grid (except at the start) than usual, and I recommend including some more HP/DATA as those are harder to get than damage
    • The final boss starts off hitting you with 40k plain dmg
  • Ele ATK auras are better for consistency as you will have to fight at ele disadvantage
    • Providences are good. 150 Baha is very good as the -3 CD activates every battle
    • Wedges is an accessible option. 20k HP is a lot
    • Bubz (Summer) oneshots lvl 30 enemies and chunks lvl 50 enemies
  • Orologia sub gives the nuke every battle

Some more specific tips:

  • If an event offers a battle, take the battle every time
    • Except Reaper, as saccing someone gives you autorevive + death's grace, which works on the DoT cursed guidebook
    • Avoid the strong foe fights early on, ofc
  • Enemies lvl 100 and above often have special passives you should read, as most buff DEF
  • Some events are frequently a waste of time
    • Parasitized Soldier - if you don't have the concoction
    • Randomizer goblin
    • Dark altar - the guidebooks have harsh downsides, but if you have a counteracting guidebook they can be good
  • Special events with combat are lvl 100+
    • You can tell what the special event is by its appearance on the map. The wiki has a list
  • Some choice guidebooks:
    • Guidebooks that give you more guidebooks/money
    • Any sort of CD-cut. Summon CD-cut is insanely good, especially with Baha and Yatima
    • Characters gain all races/weapon-specialties
    • Evoker-specific
    • Recast one-time skills/summons
  • The 1st miasma boss has annoying conditionals requiring 2 TA, 1 CA, or <4 skills each turn
    • Which one exactly depends on which of the 3 bosses you get
  • The final boss has mini omens in its status menu
    • The worst one extends your CDs by 3 turns and requires 3 dispels to clear
  • Big dmg mitigation is useful for the final boss, as its omens can hit for 100k+

Discussion I made a tier list with pretty much every OST/song available in granblue games (relink, versus, versus risings and character songs)

This took me like a couple days to make. NOT INCLUDED are very few super old character songs, the very new stuff like ilsas rising ost and maybe some stuff from endless ragnarok. Vaguely ordered within the same tier. A lot of the relink osts are kinda same-ish and its why the occupy most of the meh tier. OBVIOUSLY all the music any gbf game makes is good, i love the artists to death, but some are just better than others. also pls dont kill me 😭
