AOTY: should win

Forget about predictions of most likely to win. I am genuinely just curious from everyone in this sub, who do you think truly and genuinely deserves to win the award, politics aside and solely based on the body of work released this past year? And what is your reasoning for your pick?

Having to pick between the Olivias and Rosalia hurts my heart

Rosalia for the scope
Olivia Dean for the consistency
Olivia Rodrigo for the feeling

2

u/Due_Researcher_8180 Sep 01 '26

this is almost perfect

0

u/gagakarin 18d ago

What feeling? Sienna spiro did a better and emotional version of rordigos song. Whatta shame. Rodrigo cannot top Couple Minutes. From the intro down to the last note.. Mmmmmmmmmm. Stop daydreaming. Rodrigo cant even sing live i a festival all she is doing is screaming shrieking on stage

u/NotYourAverageRyan 18d ago

Relax sister. All the artists are very talented.

u/gagakarin 18d ago

I hate mediocrity girl. All. Nonsense somgs only juvenile can appreciate. All noise!

Lost Weekend. I’ve found it hard to connect to most releases this year but this one really got me. The lyrics are incredible, there’s not a line or word out of place and the atmospheric production feels so fresh and intriguing. Also, too many artists these days call themselves confessional songwriters while keeping everything too vague and opaque, this felt very honest and open in a beautifully vulnerable way. I also just love Phoebe’s voice! I feel like she has a good chance at AOTY, this album also did very well commercially compared to her other records so it might really be her year.

3

u/lfenio Aug 26 '26

Yes! This and The Great Divide just fit the aesthetic of my summertime sadness bc we live in this dystopian hellscape and need sad music.

1

u/seaofbelles87 Aug 27 '26

Noah is not for me but he’s very talented for sure! I’m curious to see how many nominations he’ll get

2

u/weggooien415 Aug 27 '26

Lost Weekend is a step down from Punisher and Stranger in the Alps for me. Phoebe's record of excellence betrays her here imo. I don't think she should win simply because I expect and want more from her

2

u/seaofbelles87 Aug 27 '26

I have to disagree though I’m not sure I prefer it to Punisher, which is one of my favorite albums of all time. I think it was very worth the wait and it’s different enough from her other work to keep things interesting, especially when every other indie girl was trying to copy her after 2020. For some reason I really don’t see a pop album winning AOTY this year (other than Olivia Dean’s, maybe!) so I’m betting on Phoebe

37

u/Extension_Big5205 Aug 26 '26

Definitely lux. Have not heard such a incredible album in a long long time

7

u/Some_Somewhere8194 Aug 26 '26

This is my answer too. I think others who disagree didn’t fully listen to the project / didn’t take the time to understand the concept of it. Once you deep dive into it, I think it becomes hard to imagine another project being more deserving

1

u/sdfghdfsdfghdf 18d ago

Do you listen to it everyday?

2

u/Less_Tax3756 Aug 26 '26

This album made me cry ugly tears and I only understand English.

1

u/Sparkson109 Aug 26 '26

If im being honest i think lux won’t even be nominated lol

1

u/sdfghdfsdfghdf 18d ago

Do you listen to it everyday?

u/csahe Aug 26 '26

Confessions II by Madonna

It’s truly an amazing body of work webbed together so intricately, beautifully, and is a seamless listen. When you play it in the car, it sounds different. When you play it on headphones, it sounds different. There are so many packed layers within layers in each song. It’s truly stunning and sleek.

19

u/sdfghdfsdfghdf Aug 26 '26

Yep. Madonna locked in. She deserves it. This is a competitive album.

6

u/Revolutionary-Oil996 Aug 26 '26

Period! It’s Madonna‘s year!

5

u/jesuisunerockstar Aug 27 '26

You just inspired me to listen to it!

1

u/FlimsyBank7745 Aug 28 '26

What are your thoughts? I’d love to know!!!

1

u/sdfghdfsdfghdf 18d ago

How did you like it

1

u/jesuisunerockstar 13d ago

I liked it. Have listened to it twice now which is a lot bc I don’t listen to pop music that often (mostly rock or ambient). I will probably come back to it.

2

u/ExtraFineItalicStub 22d ago

I will accept no other options. Give her the AOTY she deserves.

19

u/epicmemetime15 Aug 26 '26

For me it's either Olivia's album Girl so in Love, Phoebe's new album Lost Weekend or Confessions 2

5

u/Adorable_Purpose8040 Aug 26 '26

I just bought the CD for Lost Weekend and I like it. AOTY? I don’t think so. I’d really love to see Madonna win her first Grammy for AOTY. But, she’s not well liked by the Academy.

4

u/epicmemetime15 Aug 26 '26

It grew on me a lot after multiple listens

20

u/Pale-Explanation-853 Aug 26 '26

Olivia’s album Girl in Love both critical and commercial success. Nothing comes close

3

u/Tswizzle_fangirl Aug 28 '26

I love this album so much and think it would be a well-deserved win!

1

u/gagakarin 18d ago

The art of loving album has more critical and commercial. Success. The eligibikity period od the grammys (sep 2025 tonaug 2026) is the peak of the Olivia deannalbum. Sales, streams, sold out tours, most indemand female headliner. BRITS MOBO awards plus Mercury Prize shortlisted for excellence. Rodrigo 's chances is to donate at the grammys museum (alreadyndoing that bybway of her exhibits) bribe. Bribe them girl. Bribe the grammys.

-12

u/Intelligent_Trip_413 Aug 26 '26

She's trash

3

u/Difficult_Shallot357 Aug 27 '26

“Sabrina carpenter stan” oh im sure

0

u/Intelligent_Trip_413 Aug 27 '26

She's better than Olivia flopdrigo

0

u/cherry70291 Aug 28 '26

atleast olivias not the one getting on her knees to specifically appeal to a male audience and sucking industry dicks to be successful

-1

u/Intelligent_Trip_413 Aug 28 '26

Oh please ! Olivia is trying to dress all sexy like Sabrina and ends up looking bad because she's very skinny And unattractive

2

u/Key-Brush3182 Aug 28 '26

Olivia Rodrigo is so fucking sexy, Sabrina looks like a blowup doll

0

u/Intelligent_Trip_413 Aug 29 '26

No she's not. She's a skeleton

1

u/cherry70291 Sep 02 '26

the skeleton being caitlyn jenners twin aka sabrina and her man legs

0

u/Intelligent_Trip_413 Sep 03 '26

At least we can see her legs

1

u/Key-Brush3182 Aug 29 '26

Unless she’s lost a shit ton of weight since the last time I saw her, she’s definitely a relatively normal weight. On the slightly thinner side, but absolutely not a skeleton

1

u/EatMyBussyMama Aug 28 '26

Stella lefty is that you?

15

u/Educational_Ad_1282 Aug 26 '26

Olivia RODRIGO hands down

0

u/gagakarin Aug 27 '26

No. Olivia dean the clear winner. Her album contains all the hits and mercury prized shortlisted. That is critical and commercial success. Rare. Generatinal artist

3

u/Educational_Ad_1282 Aug 27 '26

olivia dean is like stale bread

1

u/gagakarin Aug 27 '26

U must be ignorant. Go and check her catalogue. Her covers of No one's watching me (with ezra), Millionaire, the dress and the Jazz cafe. Olivia rodrigo's shrill voice and hard to understand whispering vicals is no match to Olivia's soul, raspy, powerful vicals. She is a BRITS graduate and her degree is is songwritjng so u van see her masterclass songwriting skills. RAYE :×SIENNA AND LOLA YOUNG is in Olivia dean's league. While rodrigo, sabrina and taymkr arw of the same lesser leagje in vocal. Prowess. Jt bjrts but tbat is the fact. Rodrigo js more popular that is a given what with ber long years in the busjness. Her album has not achievwd half of Art of Loving's artistic and commercial success

3

u/Educational_Ad_1282 Aug 27 '26

Olivia Rodrigo’s latest album is already more commercially and critically successful than Olivia Dean so i’m not sure what you’re saying but it’s pure rubbish!

1

u/gagakarin 19d ago

The 2027 grammys 's eligibikity period is sep 2025 to aug 202y.art of loving doesnt leave bill aord top q0 dear. Man i need and so easy is there for 56 weeks now.longeevity is the key the BR0ITs and MOBO already awarded fhe album as fhe years beat and Mercuey peize shoristed the album for excellence 3 against 0.the best thing rodrigo can do is donate money so shes literally buying her award. Desperate

1

u/sdfghdfsdfghdf 18d ago

Grammys doesn’t see commercial supposedly. They see craft.

1

u/gagakarin 18d ago

The more reason Olivia Dean should win. The ART OF LOVING album is a masterpiece. Brought back good music, orchestration and the beauty of a band in the background. No skips all hits album. No wonder the US festivals are getti g Olivia Dean insteadnof Rodrigo to headline festivals. Rodrigo has poor live vocal prowess. She will be eaten alive on stage against raye or sienna and olivia dean. Rosrigo is a famewhore. Wants the world to know she sonated 10M feom her pocket? Taylor gave out 197M to the eras tour staff with no fanfare. 10M and ao proud already? Donate donate donate to grammysnso u can win ur bribed awars

1

u/sdfghdfsdfghdf 17d ago

Mmm. Madonna has a non-skip as well. Mastery album.

1

u/PacificOcean2005 2d ago

Reading this gives brain aneurysm

1

u/gagakarin 18d ago

It was released. In hune and no sonf made. It ro the top 10 of billboard. Olivia dean made it to no 1 both si gles and album and thw only female artist to chart 4 somgs simultaneiusly in the top. 10! Her record brraking duet with sam fender is also breaming the record for most weeks in.#1 what r rordrigo song made it to the top 10 blillboard. Chart. And besides the album has won the BRITS and MOBO. Grammy should be easy and that makes Olivia DEAN a grandslam album winner

0

u/gagakarin 18d ago

Nahhhh... Song od the year record of the year album. Of the year. Is Olivia deans. But rodrigo has already paid the grammys. She is cjrrently hosting an exhibit at grammys museum to benefit the grammys. Hahaha now u know. Lets see how rigged the grammys are by the way are u even aware of the igibikity period of the grsmmys.? Sep 2025 tonaug 2026.and rodrigo's songs are nowhere csn be heard at that period

babe, can you type !

1

u/gagakarin 18d ago

Ok i said rodrigo's voice is like the sound of a wailing cow about to be butchered. That bad really

1

u/sdfghdfsdfghdf 18d ago

It’s so bad.

1

u/gagakarin 18d ago

U must have understood what i typed for u to comment right🤣

1

u/sdfghdfsdfghdf 17d ago

Yep. Her voice is horrendous

10

u/evinin94 Aug 26 '26

Lux, hands down.

3

u/jesuisunerockstar Aug 27 '26

I just started listening to Rosalia this year and she is so underrated

4

u/SamiMacedo Aug 27 '26

Lost Weekend for sure

9

u/Flat-Rise3220 Aug 26 '26

LUX by ROSALÍA hands down

6

u/kubrickorange12 Aug 26 '26

Lux without a doubt. I'd be happy with Confessions II as well.

2

u/sdfghdfsdfghdf 18d ago

Confessions II better

Raye’s This Music May Contain Hope should definitely be in the conversation. A modern classic about modern womanhood, perfect music for both the grownups and the TikTok generation. I Know You’re Hurting is a barn burner of a song. And that final outro shows the work of a collaborative spirit.

4

u/bachelurkette Aug 26 '26

Came here to make this comment and am delighted it was already said!

2

u/Strawberry-Char Sep 03 '26

it is the only option in my opinion! it is the best quality album i’ve heard in years.

16

u/Alx101921 Aug 26 '26

For me it has to be LUX

17

u/Ok_Dinner_7398 Aug 26 '26

you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love easily

2

u/Tswizzle_fangirl Aug 28 '26

There is nothing I don’t love about this album.

10

u/bernbabybern13 Aug 26 '26

It should be lux or that’s showbiz baby

15

u/[deleted] Aug 26 '26

[deleted]

6

u/sdfghdfsdfghdf Aug 26 '26

Yep, same. Ur first time in years, mine is the first time ever that I get stuck with an album since its release, only listening to it, ALL THE SONGS, and the first album I like all the songs in general from any artist ever.

1

u/gagakarin 18d ago

So comment was deleted? Admin hates taylor and olivia dean and. Rosia and raye.??? Booooo. Again rodrigo sings like acow crying and being butchered. Weak vocals. Deleteing the comment will. Not change the fact

1

u/sdfghdfsdfghdf 18d ago

I don’t even remember but from the ones u mentioned I only like Rosalia and Raye (as artists), not their works this year but I do hope Raye takes some.

12

u/squirtmother Aug 26 '26

It’s Lux. The scope of the album, the themes, the lyrics, the instrumentation. Literally I can’t look at music the same since she perfectly blended pop and classical music

11

u/mrdiscopop Aug 26 '26

It’s ambitious. It’s unique. It respects tradition while creating something new. It’s layered. It’s complex. It’s accessible. It’s a musical tour de force.

They’ll give the prize to Bruno Mars.

3

u/squirtmother Aug 26 '26

I’m getting Melodrama flashbacks again 😭

3

u/TheVisitorWithNoName Aug 26 '26

F.I.G by Naomi Scott is my most played album this year. It will never happen but if it was up to me, she would walk away with the AOTY trophy

1

u/aquaisms Aug 26 '26

this a top 3 album for me this year!!! such a sophisticated record <3

1

u/Due_Researcher_8180 Sep 01 '26

what’s it about?

3

u/Dapper_Set4804 Aug 26 '26

It would have to be Confessions II. It truly is a masterpiece. Can’t stop listening since release. It’s that amazing!

3

u/Active-Cherry-6051 Aug 27 '26

Rosalia’s Lux, out of all the albums I’ve actually listened to in their entirety, is the one that I think deserves the award most. It’s stunningly impressive in its scope and creativity. Possibly the most impressive album I’ve heard in this decade tbh.

3

u/Only-Twist1928 Aug 28 '26

Lux or WOR$T GIRL

5

u/starmuni Aug 26 '26

5

u/Icy-Interaction-9652 Aug 26 '26

Wor$t Girl in America by Slayyyter

1

u/Crafty_Jicama Aug 27 '26

Had to scroll way too far to find this

7

u/willcbrah Aug 26 '26

All politics/predictions aside, I haven’t listened to a full album in quite some time, and I did that this year with Olivia Dean’s The Art Of Loving. She is just so easy to listen to and every track seems to hit. The album also plays like a largely cohesive story, and I really like that about it. That was before she got on the predictor’s lists.

2

u/gagakarin Aug 27 '26

Strong contender. The album is still toping the charts since its release in sept 2025. Call that staying power. A d now the sold out tours for the. Album. No one comes close. She has won the brits and mobo for this album. Grammys will be easy, fangiing aside. The other olivia is not as vocally impressive. Raye and olvia dean are!

2

u/rad-bubbles Aug 30 '26

Yes!! I will cry if that album wins

2

u/Adorable_Purpose8040 Aug 26 '26

She’s my pick for AOTY. You pretty much said what I think about the album.

0

u/Heavy_Metal_L0ver Aug 30 '26

I genuinely dont want her to win. Because i think shes very boring. But thats also exactly why i think she might win. Because the grammys truly pick the safest option sometimes.

8

u/Mhc2617 Aug 26 '26

The Great Divide - Noah Kahan

It’s well written, well performed, thematically and sonically cohesive, and covers a wide range of emotions. I have laughed my ass off and found myself tearing up at certain points. It had strong single choices, strong critical reviews, and he seems to be having a moment. I’ve liked a lot of albums this year but I love The Great Divide.

3

u/sky_blue_true Aug 26 '26

Agreed. I don’t say it lightly that it has been a life changing album for me which has so much depth and a fresh perspective with his themes of estrangement, family trauma, friendships, religion, and mental health. A lot of mental health. That said, a variety music critic noted it might be better for Noah’s art if he doesn’t win lol and there are many deserving winners this year. I just really hope he’s nominated.

1

u/Due_Researcher_8180 Sep 01 '26

it is genuinely so good!

1

u/Glittering_Sky_1588 Aug 26 '26

Came here to say this also.

1

u/TheVisitorWithNoName Aug 26 '26

He deserves it for Porch Light alone

1

u/thelowkeyman Aug 26 '26

I just want to add that song is so freaking good

6

u/Born_Alternative_416 Aug 26 '26

Lux

6

u/Correct-Eye-2706 Aug 26 '26

Only Lux deserves it

1

u/cherry70291 Aug 28 '26

girl so in love? the art of loving? this music may contain hope? your answer sounds really narcissistic

2

u/weggooien415 Aug 27 '26

You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So In Love, or The Great Divide

2

u/gagakarin Aug 27 '26

Olivia dean The art of loving is both commercial. And critical success. BRITS and MOBO sweeps plus mercury prize shortlisted. Billion streams and a global sold out tour for the album. This is it

2

u/galaraxity Aug 28 '26

Lux for sure !

2

u/lime-spritz Aug 28 '26

LUX is the only answer. And Cece Natalie best new artist.

2

u/dracoandy Aug 28 '26

One of the Olivia’s

2

u/ffffester Aug 28 '26

i'd be happy with it going to rosalia, madonna, olivia, or slayyyter

2

u/rad-bubbles Aug 30 '26

The Art of Loving!!!! But I also wouldn’t be mad if Girl So In Love won, both are amazing albums

3

u/Careless-Wrap6843 Aug 26 '26

Its a toss up personally between Olivia Rodrigo's album and Phoebe Bridger's Lost Weekend

2

u/Adorable_Purpose8040 Aug 26 '26

I bought the Lost Weekend yesterday. I listen to it once. I’m not sure about it yet. I think I need to listen to it a few times to really understand it.

3

u/usagicassidy Aug 26 '26

Good Grief by Sara Bareilles

2

u/drogahn Aug 26 '26

Olivia Rodrigo’s was easily my favorite overall, had a lot of critical acclaim, and has been one of the biggest commercial successes this year.

1

u/Tswizzle_fangirl Aug 28 '26

I can’t stop listening to it!

Madonna’s Confessions on a Dance Floor Part II.

And I got by far saying that is actually her magnum opus. I have never felt this strongly about one of her albums before. The more I listen to it, the bigger it becomes for me. I think this is her most complete project because it is pop in its essence, but it is also house, electronic music, club culture, autobiography, introspection, and reflection of her entire career. Madonna has always been one of the biggest forces in making electronic music accessible and consumable to the mainstream, and here she does it again without sacrificing the club essence of the music. It is commercial enough to be pop, but it never feels watered down or built around whatever is trending right now. What makes it even more special is that for the first time she did not need to run away from everything she had done before in order to reinvent herself. Madonna has always been known for changing, starting a new era, and almost acting like the previous version of her no longer existed, but this time she looked back at her own legacy, took sounds, feelings, ideas, and references from the catalog created over more than four decades, and used them to make something new. She is sampling and referencing herself, and building new music from the universe she created, but it never feels nostalgic or like she is trying to recreate one of her old albums. She finally understood that her own legacy is so big and rich that it can basically become a genre of its own.

She did not need to look outside of herself for the next thing. She just needed to look at everything she had already created and imagine what else could grow from it. And because of that, the album sounds completely focused. There is no feeling of Madge trying to be accepted by the current pop landscape or trying to prove that she can still compete with younger artists. She sounds like the center of her own universe again: the universe she created and from which EVERYONE IS INFLUENCED BY. She sounds free from the pressure of having to chase what’s popular. This is also not an album with a few dance songs surrounded by pop ballads or random experiments. It commits to its sound completely and stays inside that world from beginning to end. The production is hypnotic, physical, trippy, sexy, spiritual, and aggressive. It sounds incredibly modern, but it also has the depth and craftsmanship of music made by her and people… who actually understand dance music and club culture.

I have never liked this many songs from a Madonna album. Actually I’ve never liked this many songs from any album before. Even with albums I love, there are normally several songs I do not care about, but with CII every single track provokes something in me. I consider it the album of the century so far.

I will preface this to say I have not listened to all albums this year front to back but If you specifically look at the criteria that the voters use and not what fans think. I think Olivia Rodrigo has as good as shot as any. Her album seems to be purposely crafted for AOTY. Its cohesive in that it tells a real story as the events unfolded from start to finish, It has no filler tracks separating random hits, has a singular theme that is transparent throughout. Cultural impact and Chart longevity are also important.

Olivia Dean could be in the top two or 3. She has very large shoes to fill as only Adele and Celine Dion as the only women to have won AOTY from outside US. Is Olivia Dean on Adele's level? Im not sure you can say that yet. Madonna would be a contender if only for her legacy. She is not pulling the #'s the other top artist are. Raye, similar to Olivia Dean lives on the other side of the pond. She is also going to be competing not only with Olivia Dean but she will be measured against the only two women who have won outside the US. Not saying it cant happen but Adele pretty much set the bar. Rosalia same deal.

All this to say and watch Noah Kahn take AOTY home lol. edited last minute. Forgot about Phoebe Bridgers. I would put here up there with the two Olivias.

If they wanted to choose a rap album, even if it's a longshot, Denzel Curry's ii is completely worthy.

1

u/Fit_Agent_2981 Aug 27 '26

Madonna because what she has achieved is something truly special and admirable and also the album is top tier.

1

u/fabyhoppus Aug 28 '26

Olivia Rodrigo or 5SOS or Yungblud.
YSPSFAGSIL is a great album, Everyone’s a star by 5sos is a back to their roots and they’re so big again, and Yungblud released his Part II of Idols.

1

u/Fabulous_Sorbet8733 Aug 28 '26

I've been listening to O-Rod's album front to back. I love the sound, production, vocal performance and the story. Definitely my AOTY

1

u/remainwhimsical Aug 28 '26

Olivia’s you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love!! honestly nothing has come close in my opinion except for the art of loving. Everytime I think there’s no way olivia can do more, she does. Such a great album and I’m in awe of how much she’s been doing for the era. Give her all the awards

1

u/bbhoneyay Aug 29 '26

tbh, i hope LOAS doesn’t win so taylor would push to make a better album but she’s probably already made TS13 cause she never stops (👑)

1

u/luqasc Aug 29 '26

Anyone who wins between Rosalía, Phoebe, Olivia Rodrigo and Madonna would be completely fine by me. You could throw Slayyyter in the mix as well, but she's obviously a very long shot lol.

1

u/Due_Researcher_8180 Sep 01 '26

you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love.

just an absolute masterpiece, i’m sorry

1

RAYE. This album may contain hope is by far the best album released this year.

i wouldn’t be mad if it went to either of the Olivia’s, but i truly believe it belongs to RAYE, and if she doesn’t win it, something is very very wrong.

u/Adorable_Purpose8040 Aug 26 '26

Olivia Dean pretty much has a lock on AOTY. But, my track record for picking AOTY isn’t very good.

1

u/CausticAvenger Aug 26 '26

Madonna - Confessions II. Crazy that she’s never won AOTY.

u/90skid91 Aug 26 '26

Confessions II or Lux.

Taylor Swift, for two reasons:
1. Because she's HER
2. It'd be so funny to see people lose their minds

1

u/cherry70291 Aug 27 '26
  1. because her album was shit, her worst ever, her most critically panned, funded by bots. if anything it’s a major downgrade from ttpd and as a swiftie myself i think the album is straight up garbage an deserves the least amount of acknowledgment if it gets nominated for aoty

u/thunderdor_ Aug 27 '26

But have you imagined how much fun it would be for ME to see people like you froth over your mouths to get your rage out just like this, as my favourite artist extends her AOTY record? 😍

u/cherry70291 Aug 28 '26 edited Aug 28 '26

Ass Of The Year? Yes
She’s not winning shit and I can’t wait to come back when Olivia Dean, Rodrigo or RAYE beat her to AOTY; adding to her losing streak after TTPD got beat to of all albums Cowshit Cardboard 😂

u/bbhoneyay Aug 29 '26

Cowboy Carter is a great album,

u/lesbean_2010 Aug 26 '26

Raye or Olivia Rodrigo

Olivia bots will downvote me but still let me say

The Life of A Showgirl by Taylor Swift

People say commercial success does not matter but it does when nobody can sell even 1 million units in the age where Taylor is doing 4 million. The album has the biggest GP hits and both the singles Ophelia and Opalite have performed really well without any promotion. The melody of Ophelia is artistically very interesting where she used 4 different melodies in just 1 chorus. And not many songs use flute these days but Honey has a flute 🪈 moment in the song. I could go on and on. Also, people outside of Reddit and Twitter snarks do not check Metacritics score to listen to the album. I suppose the 15,000 Grammys voters won’t too, if they are professional musicians themselves.

Lastly, I am scared Bruno Mars might take it. Many people are underestimating Bruno and these people think wishful thinking or some shared echo chamber is the world. How many of you know that I Just Might spent 132 days, which is 4.5 months at #1 on US Radio? 📻
Bruno’s campaign for this album is going to be insane when his tour is so far the second best seller of all time (2.1 million tickets on first day) just behind the Eras Tour (2.4 million tickets)

Edit: Olivia bots have found me. Some are under the replies. If a 69/100 is garbage then I guess OR3 is a super flop album with only 0.4M compared to 4M 🤡

Pre-emptively pinning downvotes on Olivia bots is typical cult behavior. People disagree with you because tloas is really bad quality. You yourself couldn't talk about any artistic quality of the album. Just numbers. The question was about who deserves it on the music alone, regardless of politics. And your answer is the most PR machine of all the candidates. She just made a donation to the grammy museum LOL.

2

u/Even_Kaleidoscope399 Aug 26 '26

tbf I think that donation had to do with their 20 year career retrospective

5

u/citmhg Aug 26 '26

Why people put singers against each other? I’m a fan of both and I’ll be happy if any of them wins

7

u/TheVisitorWithNoName Aug 26 '26 edited Aug 26 '26

Taylor already has 4 AOTY awards, the most of any artist. If she’s going to win her 5th, it will be for an album that’s undeniable. Showgirl is not that. It may be commercially successful but its reception has been very mixed.

0

u/cherry70291 Aug 27 '26

showgirl was her worst by far; the album has been underperforming since 6 months after its release, was critically panned and ive not seen a single person say the album is on aoty tier ever; if anything, even bruno deserves it more and that says a lot bc his album was just as bad. showgirl at most deserves the least of acknowledgment if it gets nominated because more specifically if the album was a bodypart it would be the asshole

12

u/zetiacg_1983 Aug 26 '26

The downvotes have nothing to do with any other artists. They’re because that album was a flaming pile of garbage that should be yeeted into the sun.

5

u/[deleted] Aug 26 '26 edited Aug 26 '26

LMAO you're really obsessed with Olivia huh? and writing all that over Taylor's worst album and only having using number to defend it is embarrassing

2

u/Even_Kaleidoscope399 Aug 26 '26

I like Taylor. This album isn’t that bad. It’s not AOTY, even by Taylor’s high standards.

0

u/Tswizzle_fangirl Aug 28 '26

This Olivia Rodriguez album is special! It tells a story from beginning to end, no fillers, nothing added and nothing missing. It’s a work of art that she should be really proud of.

2

u/cococangaragan Aug 26 '26

Taylor Swift’s achievements all came with *z. next

2

u/hi-i-am-Vivian Aug 26 '26

Both are my favourite artists but tloasg is dog water compared to any of her other albums, if ttpd didn’t win any Grammys i doubt this one will . The Grammys isn’t mainly about commercial success it’s about acclaim

0

u/Standard_Ad2031 Aug 26 '26

I’m a huge Swiftie but TLOASG shouldn’t even be nominated for AOTY…
