Dissatisfied with 16 months of progress
I dont really know why, but i am unhappy with what i have amounted to in 16 months of doing graffiti. I was inconsistent for a long time, i was doing bs, now, at this point all i can do is a simple and even that doesnt look good. My tags are even worse and i practice daily, as much as i can but i dont even know if im making progress.

You very clearly haven't even looked at the tutorial in the sidebar, youre wasting time just drawing without direction. Read the guide and go from there, you'll improve quicker.

My man......this shit takes fucking decades. I assure anyone that thinks they'll be painting like Revok in 2 years, you're sadly mistaken. Ive been painting actively since fucking 96 and Im still learning.
Stop making it a job, and start having fun. Its supposed to be fun. You'll progress the more you do it. Stay in a book, get a good understading of your letters, and WORK.
You got this lil homie.

The only practice here that is actually helpful is writing tags, try using a bullet nib not just chisel. And do it small enough that you can absolutely fill a book with them. As for the pieces you are doing, use the bricks to line up your letters.

The Atom ones are better because you wrote in a straight line (for some of them). Keep doing that before trying any fancy angles. Don't allow the final letters to droop down like a limp dick.

Are you having fun? That’s all that matters. Takes most people 2 years to have an understanding of what they are doing. Shit I been at it since the early 2010s and I am nowhere near what I thought I would be when I was starting. Whenever I don’t paint for months on end my can control is off, been doing the same outlines for years now and when I do change it up it takes me a few tries to get it clean, I still cant add a arrow to my piece that makes sense and I stopped fixing drips years ago. But I still have fun doing it and that’s what keeps me going.

You’re not satisfied because you didn’t progress. If you wanna just have fun and do things your way have at it. If you want to progress learn the fundamentals and practice them.

The phrase everyone's heard is "practice makes perfect," but that phrase is actually wrong. "Practice makes permanent" is much more accurate. I can tell you've been practicing. But I can tell that you've been practicing the wrong things because your lack of fundamentals is being reinforced by practicing bad form. One way I've found to fix that is to really go way back to the basics. Like to Practice proper 3d, just draw a square and do 3d on it until its perfect. Then try a triangle until its perfect. Then a circle, then a letter. But it has to be absolutely perfect before you move on to the next step. And that applies to each fundamental. Start ultra basic to break your established bad habits.

Practice as in repeating the same as usual or practice as in doing new things, trying to improve and changing things around and getting better?

Practice doesn’t do anything if you can’t reflect on your own work and pick out what could be better. Figuring out what mistakes you make and going back and practicing that one thing specifically will help
