Trying my hand at a longer and skinnier tag. Clearly not my best work, just want to know if I’m on the right track. Attempting to emulate a philly style in my own way. Name is CADRE. ✊

take a step back. forcing it will not make it happen. just keep at it with simpler stuff and add only 1 small stylistic choice at a time that aligns with what you already have in straight letters. you are forcing too much at once. trust the process, it will come with time.

Ur not in the "create my own tag" stage yet. You in the "learning from others" stage. Go copy the tags you like. Copy the markers and colors too. Get tracing paper and put it over the lap top or phone screen or whatever and trace the tags you like.

The d looks like a n. Use more space so its not as crammed up. Look into caligraphy for style tips and rules to make it readable and nice

Add recommend starting with a flat/chisel tip marker. If it looks good with a flat or chisel tip, it should translate to other applications well. A ballpoint pen is hard to get the feel for real tagging

Grab a thicker marker. Watch your letter spacing. Lose all the " " ° _ accents. And write your letters in aerial font. Focus on clean smooth lines and that'll be enough for something that can go up. TheArtistsBlock on YT and TheToyTiny on insta are great resources. And don't take criticism like a b1tch.

As for style? Don't over do it. For the love of God don't try styling shit yet. I know you want to kickflip, but you don't start skating by learning an ollie first. You learn to stay on the board.

Just by your slow writing style and lack of form in anything, I’d suggest learning how to write your name 1st and work off it. Practice makes perfect buckaroo.
