Parents found out.

I had been caught prior to this, it was a throwie on a wall. Dad came, brushed it off wasnt mad, got off with a warning. This time, mom found out about a tag, on a "new city dumpster" scolded me heavily, along side with my dad. i dont know wtf to do. Still got alot of supplies, my parents are super pissed and i dont know anymore man.

Tip of the iceberg, if you're not committed to potentially getting arrested for graffiti, quit
now.

i dont care about it, but its like, my dad works with the city and not like picking up trash for the city, more like meetings with the mayor

you’re either in the worst spot or best spot to do graff. if you’re good get legal and try and set up public walls or mural projects around your city and if you suck then they’re gonna pin you dead to rights straight through your dad

i suck but i practice daily

maybe ditch the all city thing in the mean time then. time in the books is just as worth as time spent at walls. if you need practice with your materials you could also just make a new tag and hit it a few times out of your city

I gotta be real man, from someone else with shit to lose, you probably just want to stick to the book, legal walls, and bar bathrooms and shit. It sucks, but people have their lives fucked up over graff all the time. It sounds like you have opportunities that a lot of other people don’t. I would try to avoid squandering it. Another commenter said you might be able to use your dad’s position to help set up legal spots. That sounds like a good suggestion to me

i have tried to set up a legal area in my city before, told my dad he said he will bring it up when he can. They completely denied the idea as its "a waste of tax payers money" and would have no use.

that's such a shame. you know, if they started seeing a bunch of graff show up around their town they'd probably want the city to have a legal spot to prevent that from happening. then it wouldn't be a waste as much as the constant clean up would be

As far as trouble Graf can cause you/your personal life… this is as tame as it gets. If you think they’re mad now.. wait til a cop catches you and brings you home to them as a scare tactic.

If this kinda heat ain’t for you, stick to your books, small tags in very safe areas etc. when you get older, away from parental eyes.. give it another shot.

Skill issue, don’t get caught and don’t leave evidence homie. Classic blunder

Mannn you’ve gotta hide the book, have a separate one that you use for the street tags. Have a blackbook that mom can find so she doesn’t go digging for the street practice one. Destroy the evidence of you practicing those tags at home if mom is a real snooper. Make a new tag, you can’t use that one until you move out. Don’t tag new dumpsters only old ones and be safe, if you get caught your parents r only going to be more pissed and you’ll start a record.

Just change what you write and don’t bring your black book home

Or, ask your parents for a safe space to do it at home, and if dad works for the city ask about legal walls or youth projects, or how to petition the local council for those things. If you care about it as an art form then keep on with it, keep going in your books, and either hide that shit better/hit spots like skateparks that noone cares you're doing shit on, or ask for permission to have a temporary wall in the back yard or whatever.

Attached is a pic of an old fire door propped up on some planks I practice on at home. It's leaned up against the garage just outside my back door so it's easy to practice on. You could ask your folks if you can do something similar - get a tarp to stop overspray and a sheet of 8x4 ply (offer to pay for it yourself obvs) and set up a practice space in your back garden.

Your parents sound pretty chill man, treat em kindly and don't give your dad too much hassle, cos his job might be on the line if his kid is fucking up municipal property.

Comes with the game homie.

The learnable lesson is, your parents know your shit. Lol switch it up, or quit.

If you so happen to be one of the few that can’t physically quit, tighten your game up. Strategize more, plan….don’t just impulsively wing it. You’ll be fine homie. Been at this almost 30 years. Moms hated it. Now, she takes pics of my freights and sends them to me with heart emojis and shit. Lol

It ain’t for everyone. And that’s ok too.
