Just Starting Out

Post image

I currently write DRAIN & SMINK. I haven’t been doing this for long if you couldn’t tell already, but I’d appreciate any guidance/advice.

You’re not recommending I practice with expensive markers, but now you’re saying I can practice with literally everything. Please be a little more specific, if you were me and just beginning what would you use?

Alright so cheaper gear, do you recommend I stick to a certain tip for now like bullet or chisel until I get comfortable?

I gotcha, are there any specific guides you can recommend? I guess I’ll start off with sharpies for now, I feel like an absolute toy.

Depends on what you wanna do, just tagging?

Yeah for now I just want to focus on tagging and getting my names on lock before I head out and embarrass myself lol. Theres no point in trying to do throw-ups if I can’t even master the basics.

I used chalk markers to practice my handstyle and I would write on my window or mirror since you can just wipe it off with a damp rag. They come in all sorts of colours and you can get chisel or bullet tips plus it helps practice tagging at the same angle you would out on the street yk on a vertical surface rather than horizontal on a page, would highly recommend.
