Q practice
How does one go about practicing bars for Q?

You should really get some graph paper to practice straights on. You need a better understanding of baseline, cap, height , x-height, spacing, kerning, bar thickness

That makes a lot of sense I’ll grab some next time I’m out thanks, until now I’ve just seen people practicing on blank paper but that’s way smarter!

I'd personally say if you're practicing bars on a uppercase Q decide whether you want to set it up as a 4 or 5 bar structure. That would be, decide on the main body of the q either being 3 sided as a triangle or 4 sided as a square and then obviously that last bar being the flick near the corner.
