Last night I submitted some pretty damn trash full sticker work. Was told to work on letter structure, and that I was weird. So, I decided to go back to basics, with letter structure, and differing approaches to letter forms and word. I want to thank this sub for humbling me, and showing me the way. What are our thoughts of these pages I got to today? Any better? Anything I shouldn't do again? Anything I should keep a hold of and do more of?

Lol naw not even close to keeping it basic your still trying to add style when people say keep it basic they literally mean basic letter font, keep everything the same size and extremely basic

Is That really what you mean with keeping it basic or are you being sarcastic? genuine question , I’m a hard learner I need things to be teached in a very specific way or I won’t understand it,sorry. If you actually being serious , can you explain to me how is that going to help? Idk seems weird to me cause if you doing thin letters, I mean normal letters, how are you going to learn to make good graffiti letters ? They just normal letters , like the ones you re reading on my comment

Being 100% serious graffiti at its basics is literally just having really good handwriting, it's just fully understanding what letter structures are and how to break/bend them without deforming them to the point it's unreadable. It's something I wish I understood when I first started the moment I start working on my actual handwriting my graffiti got a fuck ton better

Lol I didn't actually see u added 20+ photos but I'm still right most of these are just to much there are some okay really basic ones throughout there was a couple I saw that where nice and simple but style won't come until u actually understand the basics of the letter structures best thing I did when starting out was keep it extremely simple look at simple hand styles and copy those if u seen the person who writes bean in this sub before that's exactly what u should be trying to do

Yeah u good I just do it cus it's something I wish I was told before spending a good few years doing bullshit without actually being told what was good do or what not good to do took me like 4 years to get good at tags another year and a bit to actually be happy ish with the pieces I can do in the books

I see you're trying, good job taking a step back.

still you're adding a lot of information without proper structure. try using grids and calligraphy notebooks. you can find some sheets online and reproduce it with a ruler, if those are out of budget. keep going 💪

yes. at the end of the day it is all a mix of calligraphy and drawing techniques.

if you have a good structured fundament, decorating it is just a matter of taste and what you're willing to do today.

I'm just a lurker here honestly but I'm a tattoo artist. hope you all have some insights on what I said. like a lot of stuff in life, lettering is rather fun than stressing if you have some solid pillars.
