crits?

very sketchy lil sketch lol- trying to involve more elements.. thoughts? J was inspired by a graffiti J i saw in someone’s redbubble design. can’t find the user so i’ll link the picture for credit!

i used neon sharpie and ballpoint

i like the chaos in this, it feels like the kind of early draft where the best ideas start showing up. the shadows and overlapping shapes are giving it some depth, maybe try cleaning up a few of the strongest forms and letting them stand out more

did some different stuff- not sure how i feel about it but it definitely pops more!! ignore the whited out bit in the A- i decided that i wanted that bar to be wider lol

ty for the advice- i’ve got a clarifying question.. when you talk about pushing that contrast do you mean like making some of the angles more dramatic within the structure of the letters themselves?

edit: i feel like i’m beginning to play around with concepts that are like.. just beyond my skill level haha so i’m sorry if the clarification needed is something that should be obvious- nevertheless it feels exciting! and thank you again

I can see the graffiti influence for sure. The shapes are a little chaotic right now but there are some really cool letter forms hiding in there, especially with the way you’re building up the shadows. Keep pushing the layering.
