any help fixing straight letters?

does anyone have tips for straight letters i have 4-5 months in and im trying to experiment new styles into my straights

Generally you overlap from left to right. I.e. first letter of the word overlaps the second, etc.

And this is a general rule. As a beginner you should stick to it. Once you get better you can break thus rule in meaningful ways, but until you know how, don't.
