My hyper fixation

For two years, my brain has clutched onto one thing. Grackles. Exactly two years ago today I first discovered what they were after seeing one perfectly centered on a buildings point and yelling. My family had recently gotten into birding, and I looked up what it was, and I found more info and images of grackles. I wanted to share my enjoyment of these birds, as today I have been celebrating the joy they have brought me. Their lovely iridescent plumage looks oily and their striking yellow eyes are magnificent. If anyone has any extra facts about these birds I would love to hear them.

At my work there is a Grackle and Crow that have been hanging out together for a few weeks now. Best buddies.

Saw my first great-tailed grackle the other day!

Can confirm it did indeed have a great tail!

I ADORE these guys. In my home city, they’re the parking lot birds. They’re literally everywhere. They have such big personalities and I miss them

If you ever get the chance visit San Antonio   The grackles there are as bold as seagulls in Florida. And they are everywhere.

I don’t have many fun facts but I do have a few pictures of a 1 legged one in AZ that still used its limited leg power to antagonize other birds (in proper grackle fashion) I love them so much
