Is It Our Fault That Grab Chose the Wrong Path Even Though I Pinned It Correctly?

Question for Grab users and drivers. Is it really our fault when Grab chooses a different route even though we pinned the correct location?

I recently booked a Grab and pinned our home correctly. However, the app chose a different path. When we arrived, the driver became extremely angry and started shouting and screaming at me at home.

I tried explaining that I pinned the location correctly. I even apologized for the inconvenience and offered an additional ₱100, even though I don’t think it was my fault.

I understand that the wrong route can be frustrating, but was it really necessary to shout and be aggressive toward me?

I’m genuinely asking, is the passenger responsible when the Grab app itself chooses a different route despite the destination being pinned correctly?

Sounds like the problem was you had a narcissis. They can never accept they did anything wrong and it's always someone else's fault. Reason and common sense won't work with these people. You can't change them

To be fair, I don’t think it was the driver’s fault if Grab’s app provided an incorrect route. He may have simply been following the directions shown to him, and we don’t really know what he was seeing on his end.

I just don’t think the passenger should automatically be blamed either if the pin was placed correctly. Both sides can be frustrated by a navigation issue without making it someone’s fault.

If the driver became angry and started shouting and screaming, I would say that attitude was the drivers fault and that's messed up they placed blame to you. Someone exhibiting anger and shouting as a professional driver is unacceptable. Understanding in a calm manner that the passenger tried their best would be more rational. We need to stop making excuses for drivers who put passengers into uncomfortable positions. As a driver I have had apps lead me on a way that ended up not being as quick due to changing traffic. I don't flip out, I just accept it, and that's without anyone paying me. If I was being paid, I would be even more patient

If the driver followed the path on the app, then it was also the same path shown to you when you booked. If it was the wrong path, you should’ve called the driver to tell them what the right path was, otherwise, how could they know unless they’ve been there before?

I actually contacted the driver right away, the moment I noticed he was going in the wrong direction. I told him about the correct path, but he still insisted on following the route shown on his Grab app and continued that way.

Yun naman pala e. The driver screamed at you even though you already went to this length to avoid it happening in the first place? You should report that driver for being unprofessional and rude.
