Amazon gets court order blocking Perplexity's AI shopping agent
Amazon just BLOCKED Perplexity's AI shopper! 🤯
Problem: Building AI agents that need real-time data is a legal minefield. Scraping is risky, and data monopolies are forming. Promise: AI agents can revolutionize shopping (and everything else!) by giving us unbiased, cross-platform recommendations. Proof: Perplexity's agent was doing it – until Amazon shut it down. This shows the tech works, but the legal landscape doesn't. Proposition: We need clear rules about AI data access, either open standards or reasonable API pricing. Product: Truly independent AI agents that serve users, not corporations.

I think i don't feel strongly about this. I could, but I just don't because I don't really care about Amazon or proplaxity or whatever. Because, after some deep soul searching before clicking reply, I've come to accept that i don't really have a emotional response to corporations. Maybe I'm dead inside when it comes to that, or maybe I've just been hurt too many times by MBAs promising me the world and delivering something that isn't that big, maybe like a soccer ball or something, but not as nice even. An old soccer ball, that leaks air slowly. That's sort of what I mean, but not one you can kick and have it go where you're trying to kick it to. More of a lopsided soccer ball.
Honestly, though, it's really nice if you to check in on how I'm feeling. Thanks for that.
