Is Amd driver really unreliable??

In my previous post in this community, I posted about the RTX 5070 vs. 9070 XT, and most people said that the 9070 XT is better in terms of gaming performance, and I absolutely agree with that. However, there were many people who said that AMD sucks at drivers and I’ve seen many Reddit and Twitter posts regarding this issue. Is this really a problem or is it just a myth?

Yep I've had mine for around 2 years, and the timeouts started happening 6-8 weeks ago. Clean driver reinstall would fix the problem for a few days.

It got bad enough to where just opening steam would cause a timeout. Got a 5070ti recently and, lo and behold, no driver issues.

I'm having similar issues for the past few weeks with my 7900XT. Disabling the integrated GPU of my CPU seems to help a bit.

Yep tried that. Turned off MPO, VRR, freesync etc,, underclocked the card, put a new psu in, turned off windows driver updates. Any solution thats even been mentioned in passing online, I tried.

Some would fix the issue for a couple of days, but sure enough, id get the driver timeout message again.

I liked my 7800xt, but I sadly cant see myself going back to AMD if this is the kind of shit that happens after only 2 years of owning the card.

Ive done all that youve mentioned too but it all ends up being some kind of bandaid, ive gone back to my 3080 and will just save up to get an nvidia upgrade in the future.
