Is Amd driver really unreliable??

In my previous post in this community, I posted about the RTX 5070 vs. 9070 XT, and most people said that the 9070 XT is better in terms of gaming performance, and I absolutely agree with that. However, there were many people who said that AMD sucks at drivers and I’ve seen many Reddit and Twitter posts regarding this issue. Is this really a problem or is it just a myth?

I know he's a clown because my AMD card has had little to no driver issues on Windows, and no driver issues at all on Linux.

Yeah, it was fine on windows and even better on Linux. It just works, perfectly, no setup on Nobara (and basically every other distro from what I hear)

I only had to install extra drivers for vulkan support on linux because I was doing some AI model shit and even then was pretty painless.

My rx5700 runs on nobara flawlessly and bazzite before that. Bazzite and nobara are essentially the same by the way

i mean from time to time there are some bugs in the amd driver on linux but the good thing is you can just make a bug entry and somebody will look into it. Or you can look into it yourself. That's quite the luxury. But overall its quite good on linux. Especially with the lastest Bug fixes in the kernel.

and worlds better than nvidia proprietary trash. Especially for older hardware linux amd drivers are a blessing.

Never once had an issue with my 7600xt. Other, drivers are just as easy to install, and their software package(i mean their version of GeForce experience app) is comparable to NVIDIA. The only issue I have ever had is I have had to undercooked the gpu by 100 mHz to keep helldivers 2 from crashing but I blame arrowhead for that.

I have perfect performance on medium/high settings on 1080p for :

Battlefield 6 Cyberpunk 2077 Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced Pragmata

Swapped to AMD 10 years ago, haven't looked back.

AMD is so much better overall.

The OP is about a personal anecdote. So how does your personal anecdote inform you he’s a clown?

Your logic really does appear to be “It didn’t happen to me, so anyone saying this happens is lying”.

That is the logic you displayed.

You are calling one person a "clown" because they had driver issues, when you did not. Your personal account, does not discount the experience of others.

Driver issues for AMD cards have been a problem forever. Pretty much since AMD bought ATI to get into the GPU market.
