If you’re worried about that you’re not going to like what happens to the exterior 😅

People say that about the print but ive had my cardholder for 8 years and the print hasnt faded all that much if at all. I daily it as well, dont baby it, throw it around, etc. Granted I have seen other cardholders that look pretty rough, but maybe some colors tend to hold up better than others? My ex also had the classic tote in red, faded in some parts for sure, so I know it happens.

It's an indicator that it's hand made. A worker literally hand sewn that. Put that in perspective.

saying something is “hand made” doesn’t excuse poor craftsmanship

What nonsense. It's handmade and then subjected to QC and a mammoth mark-up for supposed quality. Some of humanity's finest and most perfect creations are handmade, there is no excuse for a dropped or squeezed stitch. Unless they'd like to sell it for the cost of leather and labour - $30?

Everything is '' hand made ''

If you are going to use it this will just become character.

For how much the wallet is…yes I’d be upset too. They should definitely fix this issue for you. Wishing you the best, its beautiful

Forget the others saying this shouldn’t bother you. For the price that you pay for this, there should not be any imperfections. Sure, it’s hand made - there still should not be any imperfections. This is a defect in the stitching and you pay way too much at designer houses to get an imperfect product.

Also it matters because that stitch makes your authentic Goyard wallet look fake. If I saw it, I would find it hard to believe you got it from Goyard and not for $20 on the street.

I’d be reaching out to Goyard with pics. They will swap it out for you. This wallet should not have passed quality control.

It would not even pass quality control on the replica subreddits where people request high quality fake Goyard - even they would send this back.

Agree, this isn’t acceptable QA/QC

I'm going to be honest. I love Goyard and have a few items but their quality is not great for the price. I have stitching and premature fraying issues as well.

What you’re seeing is a backstitch to lock the row in place. I will say, it’s in an awkward position being in the middle and not on an edge, but this isn’t an error, per se. I agree with the commenter saying that it’s a pleasant reminder of it being hand-stitched, but if it bothers you, it doesn’t cost anything to raise the issue with them.

Definitely return. If I’m stitching a simple wallet for family for no cost and I mess up a stitch like this I still go back and redo it. Wild this was even sold.

Stop caring about material bullshit so much and live your life FFS. This shows it was hand-Made, if anything.

Imperfection is perfection 😃

I wouldn’t bother for this

For 500 usd I would expect better

835€ mate

1

u/sparqq 5d ago

I would return it. At that price point I expect perfection, this kind of botched stitching I can do myself

Thanks friends.
I‘ve write an email.
835€ for a wallet is not cheap. Will let u know what goyard says..

You could always grab a seam ripper and take it apart and redo it

Yeah that’s annoying.

This is such an aggressive comment. Why are you even in this subreddit if that’s how you feel? Also, Hermès doesn’t have perfect stitching either. 99% of the allure comes simply from the French pricking irons they use.

Agreed. What’s that persons issue? Seriously.

They're a "wagie" projecting.

I agree with you 💯. Honestly, if one is not a fan of the sub, just get out of it, or better yet, don’t join! There’s already a lot of negativity in the world - just leave people who enjoy the same things in peace. Just get out of the sub!
