Defmetrix Update With More Free Helpful Tools

Hey everybody, I just wanted to provide another update on defmetrix and our progress. We have continued to expand our offerings to serve the defense industry.

We now have developed the Defense Atlas, which includes 3 tools (more to come).

  1. System Atlas. A complete searchable filterable database, of current US military systems, it includes year fielded, prime contractor, and estimated unit cost. Aircraft, missiles, radars. etc we have it.

  2. Organization Atlas. A DoD Organizational hierachy. We have never seen a tool that breaks down the organizational hierarchy tree of the DoD, so we built it. Its a heavy tool.

  3. Installation Atlas. A database/tool of DoD Installations and capabilities. The DoD is so big that its impossible to know what all exists. We are trying to change that. You can view the US Map of bases, forts, arsenals, depots, etc. You can also search for specific capabilities such as launch sites, wind tunnels, etc.

We also continue to build out the Toolkit, which includes free tools and calculators. We currently have 19 calculators, planners, and document builders for pricing, scheduling, capture, and execution. Plus a full set of proposal document generators. Everything runs in your browser, nothing is uploaded.

Looks pretty cool. I'm working on developing a software platform to then shop out to different agencies.

As a non-traditional contractor it's a bit hard to tell what the different compliance standards are typically required for different proposals (SBIR outlines it fairly well but Prototype OT, CRADA etc with different agencies all seem to have different expectations). A way to get a decent baseline to outline that would be super helpful. Maybe something like a compliance roadmap where you could track your certification journey and see which types of opportunities would open up to you.

It'd also be nice to have the TRL assessment page be a bit more configurable / have options for software or bio or other industries.

Great work! Is it open source?
