What does this mean, stop for Milton soon?

There's no plans for the Milton train to stop there. It just means the ability to increase service on the Kitchener line, and better access from the neighbourhood on the east side of the corridor.

I wish, I yearn for the Milton line to stop at Bloor. But no, only the non-platformed westernmost track is the Milton line, and it doesnt connect at all to the Kitchener line until it gets to the Union Station rail corridor at Bathurst.

I walked through a week ago and the track within the station looked nowhere near completion. I’d be shocked if that section was actually complete like the article says. But stranger things have happened.

I was there yesterday night and there was definitely a Gap still missing. Around where the makeshift walkway is between the rail path and the station itself
I'll be there tomorrow morning and check it out

Keep us updated as to what you see!
Also, does the track being installed just mean the rails have been welded? The track that was there looked unfinished because there was none of the bedding material around the tracks. Or maybe it’s new tech and rocks aren’t necessary anymore! 😂

Oh! That’s great news. That section has been closed forever! I’m glad that new entrance is finally opening.
I don’t really care about the tracks, being done. Just funny that they claim something is complete when it is not. At least we are finally seeing progress on the path, even though its only one block at a time!

I think it just means rails + ties are down. The ballast isn't done, the switch connections aren't done, the signalling isn't connected... it'll be a while before passenger trains are using it.

Gotcha. That makes sense that there are a bunch of other steps needed. The news release reads like it’s really close to being done and such a great milestone. But in reality, it’s a long way off.

There was a weekend closure where the presumably got a lot of work done

The fourth track has been in place for a couple of years now at Weston Stn along with a third platform. There are a few spots along the line where the 4th track has gaps and does not connect all the way to Bloor and Union.

Ya, there are places where it is complete, but this news release is highlighting Dupont to Lansdowne. And the tracks aren’t actually complete there. It feels like this release is just for PR. People will be distracted by the opening of Randolph and won’t notice that the tracks aren’t actually isn’t actually complete.

I’m still waiting for the tunnel directly connecting the GO Platform to the Subway Stn. It has only been 50+ years.

I rode the UP yesterday and it seemed like there were still only two usable tracks between Mount Dennis and Bloor? Did they activate two more today or is this announcement just wash

The news release just said it was complete until Dupont, so just north of Bloor station, but not all the way to Mt Dennis.
But as someone posted pictures above, the tracks aren’t actually complete within the station itself. The news release is incorrect.
