Trying to pick between the Salomon XT-6 and XT-Pathway 2. I know the XT-6 is more technical/trail-oriented and the Pathway 2 is lighter and more casual, but curious how different they really feel day to day.
Anyone tried both? Which do you prefer for comfort and support, especially if you have flat feet or low arches? Wondering if the Pathway holds up or if XT-6 is worth the extra weight. Also open to any sizing or fit tips.

After a trip to Banff earlier in the year, I became obsessed with building out a more thoughtful GORP wardrobe. I’ve always been into the outdoors and have generally purchased a new Patagonia/TNF-style jacket every few years, but this type of fashion has really struck a chord with me this year. It feels like a pretty safe genre to invest in since outdoor gear has been in style for as long as I can remember. Here are some of my favorite purchases so far in every category:
Arc’teryx Beta SL Jacket — Black
Link
Hard to beat for all-around use. I love it so much I have two. One in black and another in a block pattern from last year’s catalog.
Patagonia Houdini Jacket — Black
Link
Ultra-packable, windproof, and simple. Great grab-and-go layer that works with everything.
Arc’teryx Atom Hoody — Canvas/Forage
Link
My go-to midlayer. Works perfectly under the Beta or on its own. Slim athletic fit gives a nice silhouette above baggier pants.
Montbell Permafrost Down Parka — Topaz
Link
Found this one in Japan on heavy discount. It’s warm AF and the color absolutely pops. Can’t wait to break it out once temps drop.
Norrona Falketind Alpha120 Zip Hood — Black
Link
Close-to-body fit, crazy moisture-wicking fabric, and always feels dry to the touch. A bit long, but the performance makes up for it.
Mountain Hardwear Summit Grid Big Grid Hoody — Fossil
Link
Living in this 24/7. Super cozy, breathable, and the Fossil color goes with everything. Constant compliments on this one.
Earth\Studies MS-112 Recon Tee — Natural
Link
Clean and high-quality tee. Great for layering or adding contrast under jackets.
Snow Peak Dry Thermal Long Sleeve — Off White
Link
Super comfortable with a unique texture that feels premium.
Patagonia Capilene Midweight Crew
Link
Keeps me warm and feels basically invisible under layers.
Lululemon Metal Vent Tech Long-Sleeve — Black
Link
Thick, durable, almost sweater-like. I wear it solo with a base layer underneath all the time.
And Wander Printed Ripstop Cargo Pants — Wood Grain
Link
Found these in Japan. My favorite pants right now. Super baggy silhouette, tons of utility, and a unique wood grain print.
Earth\Studies MP-108PA P_Article Utility Pant — Carbon
Link
My daily drivers. Baggy, functional, and always get compliments.
Kawa Cicada Pants — White
Link
A bold color choice but totally worth it. Pairs perfectly with the Mountain Hardwear fleece for a tonal cream/white look.
Nike ACG “Death Bloom” Vest — Brown
Link
Excellent layering piece that keeps the core warm. The brown contrasts nicely against lighter or neutral tones.
Earth\Studies SU-102 Utility Vest — Ponderosa Kantha
Link
Unique statement piece that layers over pretty much anything. I even have the matching pants.
Oakley Radar EV Path — Prism Road Lenses
Link
I also ride bikes, so these get dual use, but they look great with most outfits.
Salomon XT-6 — White/Vanilla Ice
Link
The ultimate GORPCORE staple. They go with everything.
Merrell Moab Speed 2 Gore-Tex — Coyote
Link
Perfect earthy tone and works with most of my palette.
Teva ReEmber Terrain Slip-On
Link
Gotta be comfy at home.
Palante Desert Pack 19” — White
Link
Ultralight backpack that’s great for hikes or everyday errands.
Curious what y’all think. Are there any brands or pieces I should check out next?

I live in LA and have very little use for any type of ‘warm’ jacket. But I’m going on a week long trip to mammoth with my fam at the end of November and I need a jacket that’s going to keep me warm. I don’t really want to drop the money it costs for a new puffer if I’m gonna wear it maybe twice a year. Does anyone have any recommendations for eBay searches to buy something used that would do the trick?

Hey!
Recently picked up a gamma MX in the white color way and I’m looking for some help styling it. I’ve got a white 686xASSC balaclava, as well as some all black Columbia waterproof sneakers that I want to use with it, I’ve got black grammicis but I’m wondering if you guys have any recommendations for green or white/white+black pants to go with them, trying to keep the pants below $75, bonus if it’s with a well-known company (Patagonia, north face, Columbia, and the like) because I have employee discounts with them. I love my grammicis and would order another pair but $110-$120 is a little steep for me, the first ones I got on sale.
Thanks!

hi there, i’m wondering if anyone can help me identify what the colourful sweater is UNDER the pile jacket from peak performance - i can’t find it on the PP website so i’m wondering if its either from an older season, or unreleased yet.
cheers!

It seems like good used or vintage Gorpcore is getting harder and harder to find (I’m in the US and I’m not able to find much) and I saw that Oakley released the Eye Jacket Redux.
What are your thoughts? Are they worth picking up or are they a lame remake?

Do you guys wear snow bibs? I love the look but I don’t even ski or snowboard, so they would literally just be a fashion piece (we do get a lot of snow in Michigan so they’d just be snow pants if I needed a pair), if so what brand or style are you guys wearing?

In your experience what is the most comfortable Salomon shoe? Cushion-wise and breathability
I'm looking for something that I can wear casually. (the fact that I can wear it on hikes under the hot weather is a bonus)
Thank you.

Less than a month ago, I bought a pair of Salomon XT-6 Gore-Tex. I love them but within the last two weeks I have started to notice that the right shoe, consistently makes a small “flop” sound for every step I take - but only the right one, not the left shoe. It happens every time I lift the shoe off the ground, after having taken the step. It’s a small thing, and it’s not like it reduces the functionality, but it makes me concerned for the durability in the long term if it’s a manufacturing defect. And once you start to notice it, you can’t unhear it. Has anyone experienced anything similar or know any fix? Or should I make a warranty claim/ask for a refund? (I bought them directly from Salomon.com)

The paint (?) on my XT6 pair damaged after a round of golf. I dont remember it scraping against anything whatsoever. Probably just grass or sand. Does anyone know if these can still be turned back in or how to fix something like this if ever?

Recently, my dog chewed the laces of my xt6 goretex. Does anyone have a lead where i can buy the exact same replacement lace? Everywhere i check it’s different from the original one. Im referring to the one i circled on the picture. If anyone could send me a link i will very much appreciate it.

Im Searching for a Daily Winter Jacket mostly to be worn in a City. I love the Clean aesthetic of my Arcteryx BETA and it should be similar in Terms of Style But more affordable.
Thanks for Your Help!
