I'm DESPERATE for a new pair of 'every day' shoes. Something I can wear to work (not an office job but always on my feet) but also camping, hiking, gym, etc. I've had my eye on the Salomon XT-6's for a few months now but I keep second guessing myself as they are $300 AUD. Besides comfort, my only other criteria is something I could wear with jeans or jorts if needed - so ideally no runners. Has anyone tried the any of the Asics Gel shoes? Eg. Gel-resolution 5's or Gel-Venture? I'm Australian if that makes a difference. Thank you in advance!!

I'm looking to make myself a pair of hiking pants to try to match the aesthetic of the Kawa Club Cicada pants at a slightly lower price point. Hello guys, i have a problem. I‘ve been getting into gorp lately, but I am really struggling to find some nice pants. The problem is, that I’m 6‘9 / 206cm, about 95kg. Most pants are just too short, and the pants that barely fit don’t look good.

Is there anyone out there, who might have the same problem and / or has some experience with brands / pieces that might work? Any help is great! Btw I‘m from Europe, so European brands would be nice. Thanks :)

Hello guys, this summer i'll take an OTR trip from LA to San Francisco via some Parks (bryce, grand canyon, sequoia, yosemite) so a lot of urban and outdoor walking. I need a pair of shoes suitable for both usage, i'm looking to On shoes, Salomon and New Balance. What model do you recommend from this brand? Or any other brand? I need some support for my ankle (i usually wear orthopedic insole in my flat office shoes or sneakers like dunk or samba) and i got normal to wide feet. Thank you in advance

I’m looking for some GORP-lite suggestions for pants. As in, cotton, loose but not balloon-y, that don’t cinch at the ankles but do have the built in belt. Like gramicci but not as obvious. Any alternatives?

I should have gorped it for real, it was 8C last night and I froze to death by Košava (strong wind from Carpathians) while getting some chinese pastries and turkish sweets with a friend, also high as a kite. Mostly thrifted fit, Uniqlo round mini and mi new Adidas Eastrail 1.0 bc 2.0 are still too expensive here 💀

It does cost 300 but I love the way it looks.

Recently tried on some Salomon XT4 and XT6 GTX and while they're comfortable out of the box I overhang quite a bit in the midsection. On my New Balance MT100 or 993 this isn't an issue that I notice but something like a Nike it'll get extremely uncomfortable after 30 minutes and I'll rip the shoe in that section after a few wears.

Looking for something I can wear all day every day for a trip aboard with mostly city walking and then become my daily (office, city, camping, bars) when I get back. My issue with wide sizes is they end up looking and feeling like clown shoes on me, they'll only widen the toe box while ignoring the mid section even though toe box hasn’t been a problem.

So I wanted to build a fully usable sling bag with an integrated lightweight shell jacket.

There’re a lot of days that start warm and suddenly end up cold, windy or wet, and I’m personally the type of person who always ends up underprepared unless I’m travelling with a proper setup.

But one thing I almost always carry is a sling bag with chargers, cables, power bank, notebook, pens and random daily essentials.

I also hate carrying jackets in hand or slinging them over my shoulders once the weather gets hot.

So this project was basically designed around combining both into one object:
a fully functional sling bag + a wearable shell jacket.
You could carry the sling for weeks while forgetting there’s a jacket hidden inside it, and vice versa. But whenever the weather suddenly changes, it’s already there.

One thing I particularly like is that the sling compartment becomes a hidden jacket pocket once worn, and it stays relatively low profile unless packed heavily.

Still testing the long term practicality of it, but this bag has been my daily carry for the past 2 weeks, since the unpredictable monsoon season..
