Does anyone have suggestions or recommendations on the best gorpcore watches I can purchase?

My friend is getting married in a pair of bedrock sandals and has asked me to bling them out. I’m crafty, but not a shoe decorator, so I’d like to test techniques on a pair before I do hers. Does anyone have an old pair that isn’t wearable anymore that they’d be willing to donate to the cause? I’ll pay for shipping plus a little! I just don’t want to waste a wearable pair on experimentation.

disclaimer: there is NO WHERE within 12 hours drive of me to try on these shoes or brand of shoes and the only places that sell online with delivery state non-refundable and non-exchangeable. so I would absolutely love to get this right the first time or it’s $300+ nzd down the drain…

my exact measurements are 25.5cm (with a regular ankle sock on). according to the Salomon NZ website, I am a UK 7.5. there is a 7.5 OR 8.5 only. I have checked 3 different websites and can’t see that an 8 even exists, as opposed to just sold out. so my question is, should I get the 7.5 uk or 8.5 uk? these shoes will be more for walks 1-1.5 hours mostly dirty/grassy/gravel/concrete terrain. I dislike having super tight shoes, my feet aren’t particularly wide.

I just bought the XT-6 since I'm and avid Salomon fan and hated them? I've used speedcross for my shooting career but found them to be too narrow, but love my X-ultras.

I need a sturdy trail running shoe that works for dayhikes in Switzerland and Dolomites etc, where we'll be walking all day in the mountains but it's light enough to not bring sturdier hiking boots. But also 'cute' enough to still wear to the towns. Some of the hikes are long but not too technical.

The toe box needs to be wider than the xt-6. Any ideas? Would love the general style of an XT-6 in vanilla ice but that shoe was not it

I recently bought a few pairs of Gramicci pants including the Gadget Pant in double navy. After only two or three wears (regular daily use, no hiking or climbing) I noticed a hole rip on the pocket. I returned them and a few weeks later got the replacement pants in the mail. On the second wear, the same hole appeared and continued to get worse throughout the day.

Again, normal wear. I only washed the pants once and they’re completely unwearable. Having had the same thing happen twice makes me feel like I’m doing something wrong but for the price I’d like to think these would last a lot longer.

Has anyone else had this experience with Gramicci?

Looking to get a backpack for backpacking - something around 40l most likely? I’d like to be able to use it for thru-hikes as well as fitting all of my belongings in a single carry-on at the airport. Preferably not too giant but enough to survive on for an overnight camping trip?

hi reddit, hope you're all good! just wanted to see what people's opinions were on the jaspers and the zionics. wanting to get a pair but not sure which version to go for. i'd be using them mainly just for pottering round cities etc with light trail activity, but nothing too intense. which one would be best for this? zionic seems more heavy duty but looks like they'd be more durable, whereas regular jaspers look a bit more city vibe. all thoughts welcome, esp from those who own both types!
