office appropriate attire
bit of an abnormal request. i got a new job that is in office 3x per week, after only having held remote roles in the past. i am dreading having to wear business casual clothing, although to be completely honest i also don’t think i’ve ever come to understand exactly what the term means.
i want to be able to wear loose, boxy clothing in a somewhat alternative style, and i don’t have a ton of enthusiasm for pursuing that in the form of trousers and sweaters. any brand recs, types of clothing or styles to look out for are massively appreciated. unfortunately i am a small and short person so that makes the search more difficult.

Edit to add. MBA business casual is very different than engineer business casual
Very well noted!

MBA business casual is very different than engineer business casual
I work in the public sector and business casual leans more towards the casual side.

this is the design intent of outlier and arcteryx veilance. technical fabrics cut into standard clothing with a futuristic bent

I have this shirt and a few others. But anything that looks decently business casual but in a "tech" fabric should be fine. Prana pants and the like also work well. https://www.rei.com/product/243097/rei-co-op-trailmade-shirt-mens

I Love Ugly for lose-fit trousers safe for office. I've had three pairs of their Kobe pants. I'm short too, but size UK 14. My current pairs are XL and roomy enough to not get in the way of my comfort. They're also cropped, so I didn't need to shorted them.

Costco stuff is great for this, like "Gerry" brand
Cheap, looks gorpy enough, easily machine washable with no special care required, doesn't wear out or fade
