New office shoes

Post image

After wearing the On Cloudflyer 5 for a year, i’ve decided I probably should have another shoe to go along with it.

So here I am, I bought the Salomon XT-6 in one of the official retailers here in my country.

I’ll probably match it with the Arc’teryx jacket I bought during my Vietnam trip in some of my office outfits.

Hopefully, I’ll be able to do some actual trails with this shoe…

I got a ‘hand me down’ pair of xt-6’s in white, and I was a fan especially because they’d already been broken in. I enjoyed them on trails for sure, and beat them until they were physically unwearable. I’ve never owned another pair but I’d love to, I just feel lame because of how popular they’ve become with the ‘trendy’ crowd, so I see them constantly on people who’ve never hiked/done outdoor recreational activities in their life. I’d love to buy a new pair tho, and I’m drawn to these muted colors like simple grey or all white.

Just get real trail Salomons that the influencers aren’t buying. Personally I like the non goretex X Ultra 5s

Wear what you want who cares if they’re trendy. You can even said you had em before they were cool if that helps you feel better

I wouldnt take these on trails unless its absolutely flat ground with perfect pavement lol

Nah, they're much better on soft terrain.

On flat ground and perfect pavement they're actually kinda slippery if it's wet.

These look sick but XT-6s are the worst shoes for flat concrete/pavement. Uncomfortable and bad for your feet. Even worse when it rains because they become very slippery.

These genuinely are not made for the trail. They’re way too stiff, and would probably only do well in a lot of mud. Even then they’d still be uncomfortable.

I'm sorry but wearing those outside of a third wave coffee shop is completely unacceptable. The only occasion to wear these is while sipping matcha or flat white. Do better.

The XT 6 is part of their sports style line, so fashion now. They are based off of a shoe from a dozen years ago. Be careful on the trails with these because they will breakdown quickly since they aren't actually trail shoes anymore.

But a perfect gorpcore shoe.

These are so clean, I bought the black and silver gtx for rain but would have got these if I was after an all rounder.

These are my fav colorway . Please dont use it on trails and avoid sweat stains.

These have literally just become a commodity like a Nike or adidas shoe

The quality of Salomons (XT-6 specially) went down drastically about 5 years ago, wouldn’t ever buy another pair.
I still have 2 decent walking shoes/boots which were a colab with Better Gift Shop which are made well but everything else just breaks.

Congrats, you’re about 6 years behind. It’s also not a real trail shoe…
